I have been a big fan of Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake series from the very beginning. I love that series. 1st 3 books are mild as far as sexual content goes after that it picks up especially around book 5. It has been said that Ms.Hamilton writes the best sex scenes in the business. I love how the character has evolved. I recommend starting from the 1st book: "Guilty Pleasures". It's quite a ride. Cannot wait for new one to come out. Also: Merry Gentry series also very good. no vampires yet. Just "fae".
Lets just say that by the last 5 books you begin to admire her time management skills. One begins to wonder where she finds the time to do anything other than have sex. She still manages to "kick butt" and vanquish the bad guys.
For all of you who love the Anita Blake series: check out "ladies who love Laurell" site at goodreads.
Love Anita Blake! Always been on my top five favourite series! :)
I'm reading them at the moment I'm on
which is the 6th book. I am really liking them some of them are a bit slow in paces. They are starting to get a bit sexier now too :D
Oh they get sexier alright! People have left the series when they come to the two digit numbers for it. Although personally I don't have a problem with it, especially since it does have a reason for it. :) Hope you'll keep enjoy it!
Thankyou I'm sure I will. Nearly finished this one now. So far I'm liking Jean Claude the most just something about him.
Oh yes, I also like Jean Claude! :) I've always wanted her to be with him!
I don't quite know what it is. He just seems to know Anita better than Richard ( well at the stage i'm at anyway).
I know. But then I never really liked Richard... And my opinion haven't improved throughout the series either. Something about him just annoys me...
Same here, just seems a bit to controlling and possesive to me. He seems to expect alot more of anita than jean claude who just accepts her
Exactly! Bleh, it would drive me crazy... And that's something I love about Jean Claude - I think he's always accepted all of her.
I know! What woman wouldn't love that? ;) Haha. No, but I always thought him a real charmer. Though still real, you know.
Yeh def a charmer but not in a too perverse sort of way. Some guys can just be sleasy but Jean Claude gets away with it. Now I've finished The Killing Dance ( No 6) I def love Jean claude more. SPOILER alert maybe. The bit where Richard sort of forces himself on Anita and scares her after he finds out about her and Jean claude and how he changed infront of her too.
And still he is extremely sexual... I think he's doing a fine job!
Oh my, that's in that book! Yes, I know. Seriously, if I'd have someone like Richard in my life, I'd be scared too. Big time. And pissed at him.

Exactly he is doing a very fine job!Richard just seems a bit childish about the whole situation ...though I guess having your girlfriend go off with a super sexy master of the city vampire would make you a bit pissed off.
Hmm.. yes, maybe. ;) But he's not accepting her or even himself, so I think that's the biggest problem.
And that drives me crazy. If he just accepted things as they were, he might even get her. But no, he ruins everything for everyone - including himself. (Not that I want her to end up with him, hehe. JC for me!)
Exactly. And he's this powerful master that still sacrifices his own needs or wishes for Anita! And isn't hard on the eyes either. ;)
lol that certainly helps. Asher has just come into the one I'm on at the moment (The Burnt offerings) so cant wait to get into this one reviews are quite mixed about it about whether the sex in it is necessary or just the natural progression of the characters.
Doesn't it? ;) Ooh! I miss the Anita books... I think it's time to buy the last once as soon as I get my money. Personally, I always though the sex was part of the story, kind of like in her Meredith Gentry series, if you've read that one. But I know people will always disagree! I don't have a problem reading about menage or just sex in general though, so... I really hope you won't be scared away! :)
I'm loving them I'm going to miss them when i've finished lol. I don't think I'll get scared off. As long as their is a sexy vampire on one end of it lol.
