I'll bet it's been close to 40 years since I've read a gothic. I remember reading Mistress of Mellyn back in the day and enjoying it. I'd be interested in checking out some contemporary gothics.
I'm not sure if this one is considered a gothic or not, but I came across Windwalker by Natasha Mostert at the used bookstore. I haven't read it yet, but I think it fits the definition that I found.
There's also A Very Gothic Christmas by Christine Feehan and Melanie George. I've only read the story After the Music by Christine Feehan which I thought was pretty good.

I thought gothic romance had to involve a castle, ot a ghost or something, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know of any contemporary gothic romance novels?
