Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments Gothrom. net says "the necessary elements of a true gothic romance--heroine in peril, isolated setting, hero of questionable motives."

I thought gothic romance had to involve a castle, ot a ghost or something, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know of any contemporary gothic romance novels?

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 361 comments I'll bet it's been close to 40 years since I've read a gothic. I remember reading Mistress of Mellyn back in the day and enjoying it. I'd be interested in checking out some contemporary gothics.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I'm not sure if this one is considered a gothic or not, but I came across Windwalker by Natasha Mostert at the used bookstore. I haven't read it yet, but I think it fits the definition that I found.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments There's also A Very Gothic Christmas by Christine Feehan and Melanie George. I've only read the story After the Music by Christine Feehan which I thought was pretty good.

A Very Gothic Christmas (Includes Christmas, #1) by Christine Feehan

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I loved reading Victoria Holt and Phyllis Whitney back in my teen years.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments Thanks for reviving this thread Pamela! I'll have to look for some Victoria Holt novels the next time I buy books.
