Defying conventional wisdom, in this case, I'm inclined to say the TV show is better than the books.

In the books, Sookie just seems desperate. Bill is my my boyfriend! No, wait, Eric is! But Alcied thinks I'm cute! And so does Quin! And Sam will be always there! And Yay! Boys like me! Here's Eric again! No! here's Bill again!

In the TV show, Lafayette is awesome. So is Terry. Hell, so are Andy and Jason.

Sophie-Anne on the other hand ...

I really can't say one is better than the other. To me they are both so different. With the exception of Season 1 - Book 1 everything has been altered enough to keep me loving both. With the books of course we are so much further into the story so it keeps me interested in wondering which characters they will bring to life and who will be cast to play them. So that's my vote. I love them both I simply cannot choose :-)

I have to say that I like the books better. Sookie is stronger in the books- she can actually save herself! In the show someone else is always saving her and that bothers me! Even Tara saves her in the show.

i have to vote for the books as well. i like how i imagined it all in my head :D jessica is right i dont like that they make sookie look on the show, i liked that in the books, ditzy as she was she could still kick a little butt from time to time...dont get me wrong tho i like the show too!

You can tell when people have only watched the show because they think Bill is just the greatest thing ever! Those of us who have read the books have a slightly different opinion.

Book!Sookie a strong character? When does she ever get herself out of trouble? Except for the time she accidentally killed the fairy with the garden trowel.

Those of us who have have watched the TV show think TV!Hoyt is the greatest thing ever.

I am going to Dragon Con this year and I get to meet Charlaine Harris and the actors who play Alcide, Pam and Hoyt :)

Ahhhh I love soookie this serires is my favorite of all time and the show is even better cuz I get to see all the hotness of eric

I'm sad because Charlaine Harris said she was unsure if they were going to have a Quinn character :(
