Carrie (Care) (care76) | 73 comments I have a lot of books on my tbr list and I hope to put a good dent in it this year. I am going to post my ticker right here since we don't have sigs at GR.

1. Glory in Death (In Death, #2) by J.D. Robb 336 pages Photobucket

2. Immortal in Death (In Death, #3) by J.D. Robb 336 pages Photobucket

3. Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead 594 pages Photobucket I thought it was a good finale, but it could have used some more action or tension.

4. Rapture in Death (In Death, #4) by J.D. Robb 320 pages Photobucket My favourite In Death book so far.

1,586 pages

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 73 comments 5. Nyphron Rising (The Riyria Revelations, #3) by Michael J. Sullivan Photobucket Loved this one. Arista rocks!

6. The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff Photobucket Just plain boring, but had and interesting concept.

7. Ceremony in Death (In Death, #5) by J.D. Robb Photobucket Wasn't quite as good as some of the previous In Death books, imho.

8. The Emerald Storm (The Riyria Revelations, #4) by Michael J. Sullivan Photobucket I am not too into ships and sea voyages so this one didn't do it for me as much as the others in the series.

9. Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning Photobucket Amazing finale to a great series. Loved it.

10. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins Photobucket Love, love, love this book! Ranks right around Perfect Chemistry and Return to Paradise for me.

11. Hollowland by Amanda Hocking Photobucket Wow, awesome YA zombie book! Has everything I love; great characters, interesting story, action, and love.

12. A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn Photobucket I thought Flinn's other fairy tale re-telling, Beastly, was much better. The characters fell flat.

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 73 comments OMG, I have a lot to post.

13. Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Photobucket Was ok, but reminded me a lot of Outlander.

14. Nevermore (Nevermore, #1) by Kelly Creagh Photobucket LOVED this book! It was almost like two books in one. Part of it was a great romance like Perfect Chemistry and the other half was more like a thriller. Great book, but a bit weird (which I like).

15. Fall For Anything by Courtney Summers Photobucket Good book, but not nearly as good as Some Girls Are.

16. All-American Girl (All-American Girl, #1) by Meg Cabot Photobucket YA light fluffy read.

17. Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis Photobucket Good, but way too easy to figure out the twists in the plot.

18. The Other Side of Life by Jess C. Scott Photobucket Very interesting read by a young indi author. if you like fantasy with a twist, try this.

19. The Eye of the World (Wheel of Time, #1) by Robert Jordan Photobucket Re-read this with a friend new to the series. What can I say, above any other series or book this series is still my very favourite 15 years and multiple reads later. This first book is mostly an introduction though.

20. Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand Photobucket Great YA angel book. Loved the story and the way each angel has a destiny.

21. Afterlight (The Dark Ink Chronicles, #1) by Elle Jasper Photobucket Lots of people say this is a Twilight rip off, but even though some things are similar, it isn't at all. The writing is strong and so is the kick butt heroine. Plus a bit of smut thrown in t=for us grown ups.

22. Burned (Burned, #1) by Ellen Hopkins Photobucket I liked it, but hated the ending.

23. Reaper (Soul Screamers, #3.5) by Rachel Vincent Photobucket Loved getting to see a different side to Tod. I Love that reaper!

24. My Soul to Steal (Soul Screamers, #4) by Rachel Vincent Photobucket This was the best SS in the series to date. I loved it and was going to give it 5 stars, but Kaylee kind of pissed me off so I didn't.

25. Sloppy Firsts (Jessica Darling, #1) by Megan McCafferty Photobucket Jessica drove me crazy during most of this book, but Marcus was drool worthy enough to keep me reading, lol.

#%#@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just had all 13-52 and it said my post was too big, so I went to copy half my text and it erased!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr....

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 73 comments Over and hour of time spent and wasted. I could have been reading.

26. Desires of the Dead (The Body Finder, #2) by Kimberly Derting Photobucket Second book to a really cool YA mystery/thriller series about a girl who can see auras from dead bodies. She tries to find the killer in each book.

27. The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness Photobucket Enjoyed the last 1/4 but the rest bored me.

28. Tell Me a Secret by Holly Cupala Photobucket I hardly remember this book now.

29. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green Photobucket I thought this would be funnier.

30. The Devil You Know (Morgan Kingsley, #2) by Jenna Black Photobucket A unique UF series about an exorcist that has a demon trapped in her as she tries to save the human race from becoming demon slaves.

31. Cloaked by Alex Flinn Photobucket A twist on the princess and the Frog fairy tale.

32. The Devil's Due (Morgan Kingsley, #3) by Jenna Black Photobucket Another great Morgan Kingsley book, exorcist extraordinaire.

33. Betrayals (Strange Angels, #2) by Lilith Saintcrow Photobucket Felt like the story didn't progress.

34. Heavenly (Heavenly, #1) by Jennifer Laurens Photobucket I didn't feel any connection to the characters personally or feel the chemistry between them. I also really didn't care for the ending. I am sure a lot of people would enjoy this, but it felt out of place to me.

35. Vengeance in Death (In Death, #6) by J.D. Robb Photobucket The In Death books are always a solid 4 star read for me. I love Eve and Roarke.

36. Prom and Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg Photobucket Cute modern take on P&P.

37. City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4) by Cassandra Clare Photobucket As much as I love the Mortal Instruments series, this book just wasn't as good as the others IMO. Although the previous book was so kick ass, maybe none that come after can live up to it?

38. Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1) by Richelle Mead Photobucket I like mead's Vampire Academy books, but I can't seem to fall for her adult series the same way. I did like this one more than the Georgina series though.

39. The Great Hunt (Wheel of Time, #2) by Robert Jordan Photobucket Probably one of my favourite books in the Wheel of Time series. Lots of people don't care for this one as much though. It does have more dead time where they are kind of wandering, but I still love the feel of this one. Nobody is who you think they are, who do you trust? Awesome epicness at the end and the Dragon is reborn!

40. Demonglass (Hex Hall, #2) by Rachel Hawkins Photobucket Cute YA series about a witch. I liked the first one better though.

41. Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1) by Kalayna Price Photobucket New UF series. I liked it, but it just didn't live up to the hype for me.

42. Bite Club (The Morganville Vampires, #10) by Rachel Caine Photobucket If you want a good vampire series with bad vamps in it, read the Morganville Vampires. This book wasn't as good as the rest, but it was still a fun read. If you can tell from the title, this book was about a vampire fight club.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments Wow! What an update! You've been moving right along.

message 6: by Carrie (Care), Group Founder & Fearless Leader (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 73 comments I am up to reading about half of what I usually do (or less). I have so many books to update, but because I was so behind I kept putting it off. Going to try to add some.

43. Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill Photobucket I really loved the third Chicagoland Vampires, but this one was great too.

44. Eon Dragoneye Reborn (Eon, #1) by Alison Goodman Photobucket Different take on traditional fantasy. I liked it.

45. Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Photobucket Great dystopian story.

46. The Reapers Are the Angels by Alden Bell Photobucket I love zombie stories, but this one was just ok-like. It had some gory scenes, but no creepy factor. I like my zombie stories to keep me on the edge of my seat (unless they are funny like You Are So Undead to Me (Megan Berry, #1) by Stacey Jay ).

47. Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, #5) by Ilona Andrews Photobucket What can I say, I love Kate. She rocks and her and Curran make me lol, swoon, and smile.

48. Blood Cross (Jane Yellowrock, #2) by Faith Hunter Photobucket I liked the first one more. Or it could have been the timing on this one, I was going through a lot when I was reading it and it took me a long time to finish it.

49. Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma Photobucket This was a wow read. It was full of angst and it was very tragic, but I loved it. Don't read it if you can't handle the subject matter (which is incest). This book really threw me because it disgusts me, but I found myself hoping the two teens could find a way to be together anyway. I was so torn and emotional while reading this.

50. Passion (Fallen, #3) by Lauren Kate Photobucket A prequel book (kind of) to the Fallen series. I liked it, but prefer the second book.

51. Angelfire (Angelfire, #1) by Courtney Allison Moulton Photobucket A really unique take on angels.

52. Holiday in Death (In Death, #7) by J.D. Robb Photobucket These are usually solid four star reads for me.

53. Tangled Threads (Elemental Assassin, #4) by Jennifer Estep Photobucket I think this was my favourite in the Elemental Assassin series.

54. Magic to the Bone (Allie Beckstrom, #1) by Devon Monk Photobucket This was interesting.

55. Eona The Last Dragoneye (Eon, #2) by Alison Goodman Photobucket Better than Eon, lots more action.

56. Die for Me (Revenants, #1) by Amy Plum Photobucket I liked it, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. I already forgot most of it.

57. Two-Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt Photobucket A cute, light, predictable YA read.

58. Eat Right 4 Your Type by Peter J. D'Adamo Photobucket A lot of it was right on with me and my family. Interesting. I do try to follow it, but not exclusively.

59. Magic In the Blood (Allie Beckstrom, #2) by Devon Monk Photobucket This one was ok, but it seemed to drag.

60. Love Story by Jennifer Echols Photobucket I always enjoy Echols books if I am in the mood for contemporary YA romance.

61. Beautiful Demons (Peachville High Demons, #1) by Sarra Cannon Photobucket A really unique paranormal series by an indie author. The ebooks are very cheap ($0.99-$2.99) and well worth it IMHO.

62. Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison Photobucket This was good, but it was almost like reading a Black Dagger Brotherhood book but instead of vampires it had other fantasy creatures. The villains were much better though compared to the BDB baby powder villains.

63. The Demon King (Seven Realms, #1) by Cinda Williams Chima Photobucket a really good start to a epic fantasy series. I think people who like Rothfuss's The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss would like this one.

64. Inner Demons (Peachville High Demons, #2) by Sarra Cannon Photobucket Great book. Getting more into what this town is actually about. Still lots of secrets though.

65. Blood Type A Food, Beverage and Supplement Lists from Eat Right for Your Type by Catherine Whitney Photobucket Good for your purse if you are a woman, but it is a very short version of the big book. Some things on the lists are missing.

66. The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson Photobucket I liked it but it wasn't mind blowing.

67. Chain Reaction (Perfect Chemistry, #3) by Simone Elkeles Photobucket I adore Elkeles, but this one was my least favourite in all of her books so far.

68. Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1) by Richelle Mead Photobucket A spin-off of Mead's Vampire Academy series. I like Sydney a lot more in this book, but not nearly as much a s Rose. Adrian is a plus for me. I <3 him.

69. The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms, #2) by Cinda Williams Chima Photobucket Still a little slow for my taste, but I liked the story more in this second book.

70. If I Die (Soul Screamers, #5) by Rachel Vincent Photobucket I LOVED this book. I thought the previous Soul Screamers book was the best, but this one topped it. It almost seemed like it should have been the final book though, and it's not. If you like YA PNR, this is a great series where the books get better as they go except book 2). Very original too.

71. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins Photobucket I love Perkins! Her books are amazing.

72. The Dragonbone Chair (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #1) by Tad Williams Photobucket I read this many years ago and really didn't remember much of anything. I enjoyed it, but it moved a lot slower than I remember.

73. Silence (Hush, Hush, #3) by Becca Fitzpatrick Photobucket I loved this one! Better than the second and maybe better than the first (probably tied). I think this is my favourite fallen angel series, and things in the game really change in this book.

74. Blood Bound (Unbound, #1) by Rachel Vincent Photobucket Really different UF series where people have special abilities like tracking via blood or name, travelling through shadows, and binding people with words or blood. I liked the main character Liv, but Cam didn't do much for me. He made really stupid decisions.

Whew, that was a lot to go through. I had some great reads this year!

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 73 comments Oppps, I forgot a couple. They should be 66 & 67, but I do not feel like changing all the numbers so I am going to add them to the end.

75. Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James Photobucket A cute, clean contemporary romance.

76. Bitter Demons (Peachville High Demons, #3) by Sarra Cannon Photobucket I liked it, but compared to the others I felt the ending was rushed and a bit cheesy. The rest of the book was good though.

message 8: by Carrie (Care), Group Founder & Fearless Leader (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 73 comments 77. The Death Cure (Maze Runner, #3) by James Dashner Photobucket I liked this, but I didn't get enough answers to my questions considering it is the final book. I loved the first two, so this disappointed me a bit. Still enjoyed it though, just wasn't completely satisfied.

78. Jekel Loves Hyde by Beth Fantaskey Photobucket Interesting concept, but not in execution.

79. Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper Photobucket Was funny at times, but nothing else really kept my interest.

80. Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park Photobucket Really cute YA contemporary romance.

81. Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor Photobucket Interesting, but too predictable at times.

82. Spider’s Revenge (Elemental Assassin, #5) by Jennifer Estep Photobucket Awesome, awesome, awesome! This series gets better and better with each book.

83. Isle of Night (The Watchers, #1) by Veronica Wolff Photobucket Kind of like a blend of Vampire Academy and The Hunger Games, but not.

84. The Gray Wolf Throne (Seven Realms, #3) by Cinda Williams Chima Photobucket This book was much better than the previous two. Lots of intrigue and the plot threads start to braid together.

85. Vanish (Firelight, #2) by Sophie Jordan Photobucket Was a good follow up, but the end seemed unfinished. I know there is a next book, but I felt it needed more.

86. Falling Under (Falling Under, #1) by Gwen Hayes Photobucket Very twisted and dark YA romance. Yes, it does have the silly girl falling for the boy that is very bad for her, but it so different. I love how twisted it was and how the last third of the book took a weird crazy turn.
