Do you have the same Nick with Bookcrossing and here or elsewhere?
I do as well as on LJ

message 2: by Dorothy (new)

Dorothy (vilette) | 59 comments no...on GR I'm Villette. I don't think I go to BC as often now that I've found Goodreads.

message 3: by Sandie (new)

Sandie (chocdrop) | 2 comments no - I am chocdrop on BC

message 4: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Tuell (booksloveme) my name on bc is dastephan6. here is just my name.

message 5: by Angela (new)

Angela (innae) | 8 comments here I am myself...on BC I am innae.

message 6: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) On BC I'm cherylllr - if I recall correctly it's because they only let one person have a certain username (that is, usernames must be unique) and Cheryl was taken.

message 7: by Grada (BoekenTrol) (last edited Feb 14, 2021 12:23AM) (new)

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) | 5 comments I'm Totje2 on BC.

Edited: I'm BoekenTrol on BC as well (may be Boekentrol, I haven't paid much attention to the spelling when I got confirmation of nick having changed.

message 8: by okyrhoe (new)

okyrhoe | 2 comments Same nick everywhere... BC, GR, Twitter, etc.

Bookguide | 46 comments Bookguide here, there, and more or less everywhere;-)

Paula | 72 comments Courtney wrote: "I'm sweetsangria on BC.

That's a fun one!! LOL

message 14: by Joanna (new)

Joanna (walker) | 2 comments I'm msjoanna on BC, so not too different...

message 15: by Gwynn (new)

Gwynn (magisterforan) | 2 comments I've the same nickname (Iras) on BookCrossing and LJ, in both cases the first name of my character, Iras, was taken already, so I chose FirstnameLastname.
On Goodreads, however, I opted for the nickname which is a registered pseudonym on my state-issued ID (and the potions master in HogwartsOnline after Snape's demise)

message 16: by Cathy (new)

Cathy (cathepsut) I have the same username here and there, so I should be easy to find... although I am much more active here now.

message 17: by Baci (new)

Baci | 1 comments I shortened mine on GR, on bookcrossing it is bacicoline but everyone has shortened in into baci for a while so I adopted the short version
:-)

message 18: by Yvensong (new)

Yvensong | 11 comments Same name here, BC and several other places.

message 19: by Amy (new)

Amy (bookczuk) | 97 comments I, too, have a screen name that carries me across many sites. I think the only place I'm different is on facebook, but there, I tend only to friend people I actually know irl.

message 20: by Stina (new)

Stina (stinalyn) | 2 comments No. Here and on Facebook I use my real name. On BookCrossing (and wordpad) I am stinalyn. I don't hang out in the BookCrossing forums much since the format changed, but I still go there to register and journal books. For general chatter, look me up on FB.

message 21: by Moem (new)

Moem | 4 comments My nick is the same on BC, almost the same on LJ, and the same on Dreamwidth.

message 22: by Amy (new)

Amy (bookczuk) | 97 comments Hiya Moem! What's Dreamwidth? (Off to check now!) I learn the best stuff from BookCrossers! (You, in particular.)

message 23: by Moem (new)

Moem | 4 comments It's sort of like LJ. Except I like the management better, and it's ad-free. I post all my LJ entries through DW nowadays, so you'll find all the same stuff in my journal there.

message 24: by Amy (new)

Amy (bookczuk) | 97 comments Do you double-post or does one feed to the other automatically?

message 25: by Moem (new)

Moem | 4 comments DW allows automated crossposting to LJ. It's a neat feature.
Every now and then I import my LJ into DW, so I get the comments in there, too.
... is off-topic posting allowed in here?

message 26: by Amy (new)

Amy (bookczuk) | 97 comments Thanks - I dunno how to indicate OT here. Sorry for the diversion, all.

message 27: by Abigail (new)

Abigail (abigailann) | 22 comments I'm the same on BC as on here (only without the capital letter)

message 28: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Brady (minesayn) | 166 comments On BC, I am minesayn...but here it is my real name!

message 29: by Wendy (last edited Jan 22, 2011 08:45AM) (new)

Wendy (wss4) | 1 comments Use wss4 most everywhere but seems her it is my first name.

message 30: by CynthiaA (new)

CynthiaA (bookthia) | 11 comments I use my real name both here and on bookcrossing. But here I just use my first name and on BC I have added by last initial. I'm not sure why I didn't have a nickname on BC -- it just never occurred to me all those years ago...

message 31: by Joana (new)

Joana Gomes (tuanita) | 3 comments yes, same nick everywhere... it's easier... :-)

message 32: by Judy (new)

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments Mine is not too different on BC: judygreeneyes

message 33: by Judy (new)

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments I love all the BC screen names, some of them are so creative, and some are so pretty!

message 34: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) It's fun to guess what people might mean by their nicknames. I don't know the etiquette though - is it ok to ask? I'd love to ask what GoryDetails means, but I don't want to be rude.

message 35: by Amy (new)

Amy (bookczuk) | 97 comments I'd bet GoryDetails wouldn't mind if you asked. She's a huge Edward Gorey fan, and it might be related to that as well.

message 36: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Brady (minesayn) | 166 comments Magister wrote: "I've the same nickname (Iras) on BookCrossing and LJ, in both cases the first name of my character, Iras, was taken already, so I chose FirstnameLastname.

On HPANA (a Harry Potter fan site), I use the screen name potionmistress ...because I am a pharmacist!

message 37: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Tx bookczuk. Book czar UK?

I like 'potionmistress' for a pharmacist, Nancy!

message 38: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Brady (minesayn) | 166 comments or bookcrosser from the UK?

message 39: by Anna (new)

Anna (aetm) | 45 comments Here my name (or at least the part after the URL to reach my profile) is the same as in BC: aetm. Short for a & m (never mind the m has another nick for him..).
I had, and still have I guess, a book journal in Livejournal, with the same nick, aetm. I haven't updated it too often, as why journal every book? I guess I'm starting to think of making an actual blog entry for a book very rarely, so I might as well integrate it in my main blog elsewhere. The reason I created a specific blog for books and reads is that I want to keep different things in different blogs - which has resulted in several blogs being updated not that often (main blog, one for photos, one for books, one for immigration related stuff, and I was planning to do one for travels - argh).
So, for all "book purposes" my nick was/is the same.

But for other reasons and elsewhere I use another nick mainly (one that I've used for ten years), plus a few random ones on sites I don't bother to associate my main online persona.

message 40: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Complicated, Anna! :)

message 41: by Judy (new)

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 145 comments Cheryl in CC NV wrote: "Tx bookczuk. Book czar UK?

Cheryl, I don't think BCers mind when you ask about the origin or meaning of their nickname. I've seen many entire threads of people explaining their names. Here's a link to one I could find, but there have been really long ones also: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/29/...

message 42: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Thank you Judy!

message 43: by Carolin (new)

Carolin I'm C_ here and C_ on bookcrossing :)

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) | 5 comments I'm Totje2 on BC

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

I also have same name here as on bc.

message 46: by Bookguide (new)

Bookguide | 46 comments BoekenTrol here is now BoekenTrol on BC too;-)

message 47: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyneedsbooks) | 1 comments Hello, I'm new to the group! wendybird2 on BC, and just about to release my first batch of wild books...

message 48: by Bookguide (new)

Bookguide | 46 comments Good luck with the wild releasing! Don't get disheartened if your books don't get journalled. Often you never hear from them again, but others turn up months or even years later. Many people don't write a journal until they've read the book, and others just don't write one, but have read and enjoyed the book. It's so much fun when you do get a journal, though, so don't give up! Good luck.
