What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

A woman find this house that she falls in love with. She has no idea why but later has visions of being in the house before. Later after she figure out who the bad guy is she tries to escape from him. She finds a hidden room in her house that she never knew about and hides there. There is a skeleton in a chair in the room. The skeleton has a perfect view of the outside from the window. In the end it is found out that the bad guy is a reincarnated person who had killed the guy and the guys girlfriend.

That is not it but I am adding it to my TBR list. It sounds good.

The book I am looking for is not set in the past at all. The main characters find out about the history of the house and people who lived there and as they get closer to finding out the truth, that is when the "reincarnated" bad guy comes for them. And I can't really remember if the two main characters were also reincarnated or if it was the womans ghost guiding them to the truth.

This sounds so familiar, but I don't know what it is. :(

Maybe a book by Barbara Erskine? Try to remember some more details like country and time frame.

sounds like a book I've read within the last 2 years. I think it was a romantic suspense but I'll go look.

It is a contempary romance/ thriller it is set in a small town in America
