I had a question about Goodread giveaways - which I'm sure was answered in the other discussion, but I can't remember it.
I feel like I enter quite a few of them and I have yet to win one. I add most of them to my to-read and a "first-reads" shelf. And I review most books I read. I thought this was most of their requirements and yet I still haven't won anything.
So my question is: how many goodreads giveaways did you request before you actually won one?

I have yet to actually receive one, I won and then it never got here... And I do the same thing you do: review the books I read and add them to my to-read shelf, so I don't know, maybe it's just bad luck.

Are you entering really popular giveaways? Ones that several hundred or even over a thousand people are requesting for yet only a few copies are being won? If so, maybe you should try entering less popular ones just to get a few wins under your belt first.

I don't know if that will really help--I haven't had a ton of luck, either (but I don't write many reviews so I tend to assume I won't win). I just won my third giveaway out of all that I've entered in the last year and a half.

I won my first after about 6 months of entering. They ended up giving out a copy to all that entered, but the actual giveaway was for 500 copies. So, I agree. Make sure to sign up for some that have multiples and/or not a lot of entries.

After the first one, it took a few months, but then I started getting others pretty regularly. Keep trying, and Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice! I feel like I enter a variety of giveaways, but maybe I'm actually not... It's good to see that I'm not the only one with this experience. I'll just keep obsessively entering. Maybe one day they'll throw me a bone.

My first win was one where they gave everyone who entered the book. Since then I have noticed that I won't win another book until I have reviewed the last one that I won.

I've seriously must have entered at least 200 giveaways...and have won two. My last win was over a year ago. I don't understand this, I have a book blog and review a lot of books.

I then had a thought: a lot of times if I win a book (blog or Twitter related) or a publisher sends me an ARC, they won't take my P.O. box address and ask for another one. Maybe they are seeing my P.O. box address on here and just ignoring it....hmm.
