Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: A Roleplay discussion

The Hogwarts Lake (also known as the Black Lake) is a large body of water located to the south of the castle. It is about half a mile in diameter and the Hogwarts plumbing network drains into it. It is home to a Giant Squid, grindylows, and a colony of Merpeople.

Blaire:

Blaire sat against a tree in front of the Black Lake, staring at the water. It was so calm and undisturbed. And Blaire didn't like it... She picked up a small pebble and tossed it into the cool, glossy reflection. You could just make out the small plop! of it entering the lake beneath. Ripples floated outwards from the point where the rock intercepted the water.

Jessica walked to the lake and sat down by a tree and started reading a book.

Aaron sat down on a bench near the lake to read Quidditch Through the Ages

Lauren wrote: "Lauren walked up beside Blair "Hey, um what was your name again? I'm Lauren, from Gryffindor" she sat down beside Blair"

"Hey, Lauren. It's Blaire... from Slytherin."

"I'm a second year." She said bluntly. She looked around for a second, and grabbed a stick that was in arm's reach and pulled out her little mini pocket knife and started to carve it. "I like to hang out here... It's nice. I like fresh air, you know?" Her emotions could not be told by her facial expression, which was deathly blank. The only way to know her mood was her voice, which had quite a large range of volume and pitches.

Jessica waved back to Lauren and thought she just might make a new friend for once....

"Hi, i'm Jessica also from Gryffindor." shaking Lauren's hand.

Jessica smiled too.

Rachel approached Jessica, Lauren and Blaire. She then proceeded to say in a friendly manner, "Hey. I'm Rachel... from Slytherin."

Irene sat quietly at the Lake. Then she turn her head back, " Oh, hi Rachel, I'm from Slytherin too."

"Nice to meet you, Irene." Rachel said, smiling.

" Ohm, nice to meet you, too", replied Irene. " Are you first year?"

" Hello Lauren", said Irene. " And you are...", she looked at him 'cause she haven't met him before. " Hi Louie, nice to meet you. Honestly, I don't know any Hufflepuff student."

" Irene. I'm from Slytherin. And don't worry", she said. " I'm not a kind of person that like to break rules and being naughty." she smiled. " Anyway, is this your first year at Hogwarts?"

" Oh, well, then I am older than you...", Irene said. " I am in second year..."

" Do you mean my "hobby"?, Irene replied. " If you mean that then I like to read book, and practice spell...", Irene continued. And perhaps practice the Dark Art with the Death Eaters forever, she thought gloomy.

" Ah, never mind", Irene tried to smile back again. And she felt the Dark Mark burst into her skin. She felt headache, and for a moment, she saw her mother in the black cloak with the mask. " I really have to go,", Irene said, " Bye!"

"Later Irene." Rachel waved as to say a parting goodbye.

So... What's new with you, Louie?" Rachel asked to strike conversation.

"Well, I'm involved with Muggle & Wizard Music and Quidditch. Fortunately, Quidditch is actually becoming rather interesting."

"Awesome. Remind me, what house do you play for, or in other words, what house are you in?"

"Cool. So you're hard working and loyal, huh? Nice. What position do you play in Quidditch?"

"Beater." She replied with a wicked grin.

"So... what do you aspire to be when you grow up?" Rachel said to change the subject.

"Quidditch Player." She replied.

Jessica walked to the lake and sat down next to a tree, about to take a nap.

Talia sat near the edge of the lake, dangling her feet off the border. The Black Lake really WAS black. Unlike the Red Sea, which (to Talia's great disappointment) is not actually red. She began humming a simple tune.

Blaire walked down to her usual spot to find Talia sitting right in it. She sat down next to Talia instead, her legs criss-crossed. "Hello, there..." she said, not looking at Talia directly, but into the lake. She wondered what was down there... She's heard that the merpeople and giant squids resided there, but she couldn't know for sure until she actually saw it her self. Maybe she will someday...

"Hey," she nodded in Blaire's direction. "I'm in your spot aren't I..."

"Kinda. But it's cool. You can stay if you feel like you want to... I need someone to talk to, anyways."

"Thanks...Go ahead and talk, I'm a fine listener ya know." she winked at Blaire.

She chuckled slightly. "I'm sure you are..." She tried to think of something to say, because honestly, she didn't know what she needed to say herself.

Just then, Demetrio was strolling along the border of the lake when the two girls caught his eye. All girls did. He decided to talk to them. But he would approach them slowly as not to seem... too excited, he supposed.

Blaire saw Demetri. "Do you know him?" she asked Talia.

"Never seen him around before.." She stood up and waved him over.

Jessica rushed inside to get to class. Oh I hope i'm not late, she thought.

"Nor have I... But I wish I did," she said just before he was in listening distance.

Demetrio saw one of them urge him over, so he sort of jogged over. "Hello, there," he said in his adorable Italian accent.

"Are you new?" she asked.

Demetrio shrugged. "I suppose you could say that. I recently transferred from Durmstrang. It's much better here than it was there for sure."

Blaire was just standing there watching his mouth move. He was totally hot.

She leaned on a nearby tree. "Been there myself. Quite an annoying place."

Demetrio's eyebrows fixed into a confused expression. "Really... I've never seen you around. So this must mean you're a pure-blood, am I wrong?"

"I'm a pureblood alright," she raised an eyebrow. "Was that just a lucky guess?"

"Not exactly... Durmstrang only admits pure-bloods. One of the reasons I left. I'm completely against segregation for this reason... or any reason."

"Oh I totally knew that," she blew a piece of hair away from her face.

Demetrio smiled. "Yes," he said, than looked at Blaire who was silent the whole time. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch either of your names... Mine is Moretti. Demetrio, that is."

"Blaire Ashton," said she, smiling.

He politely returned the smile. "It's great to meet you, Ashton," said Demetrio and looked at Talia for her name.

"Talia Carlson." she stated matter-of-factly

"Lovely... Well, I suppose I'll be seeing you two around here often? We should hang out soon. But right now I'm afraid I have to leave... I'm late for class. See you two around," he said and turned away heading for the building.

Blaire just watched him as he left. Then as soon as he was out of sight, she turned to Talia. "So hot."

"Mmm I don't trust him." She watched his shape become smaller and smaller.

"Why not? He seems harmless."

"He seems...a little too perfect. Unrealistically so."

"Hmm. I dunno... Maybe he's just like that."
