Entering the Galahad discussion

A big open room with two big doorways. It's mostly empty, except for the spiders. The walls are mostly made out of glass, having a good view of space.

((There are 9 spiders. Spiders are the tiny ships that hold 30 teens each and will take them down to Eos))

Kiana walked into the room, looking out at space. She sighed as they passed through the stars.

Kiana walked over to a bench, staring out at space.

Sevania came in quietly. For a moment she just stood there, staring out the window at the vast emptiness of outer space. Then she walked to the window and sat down next to Kiana. "It really is beautiful, isn't it?" she asked.

Kiana looked at her friend and nodded. "Yeah. I don't understand how something so beautiful could be so dangerous. It's like a flower, but if you touch it, you get poisoned.

"Poisoned. That seems about accurate," Sevania remarked wryly. "A planet, and if you live on it, you'll run into some kind of mass extinction some way or another."

Kiana nodded. She looked over at Secania. "At least we got to be out here, right?"

"Yes. We're so lucky that we get the entire fate of the human race thrown onto our shoulders." Sevania's voice was inflectionless; it was hard to tell whether she was being sarcastic or not.

Kiana sighed. "Way to be positive, Sev." She said. "You've got to admit that there are some cute guys on this ship, though."

"Yeah." She paused, then made a face. "But can you believe that when we get to Eos we're actually supposed to reproduce with them eventually? You know, to save the human race and such."

Kiana laughed. "Maybe we can make them wait until we're twenty." She suggested.

"By then we'll know them all too well," she joked. Her heart lightened as she was reassured by the fact that she wasn't the only human with a sense of humor aboard the ship.

Kiana smiled. "Be glad you're not in my position. 'Head of Sick House'. That just means I'm the main doctor. And doctors deliver babies. So even if I wait until I'm twenty, doesn't mean others will."

"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll have plenty of help," Sev teased.

"Yeah. Like anyone else in my department would want to help me deliver someones baby."

"Hey. That's their job, right?" The shop captain's eyes sparkled playfully, then her expression turned serious. "If we ever actually make it. 'Cause if we don't..." Sevania allowed her voice to fade away, leaving her unspoken statement hanging in the air between them. Because if we don't, then we'll be dead.

Kiana nodded. "But, hey, this ship is supposed to have enough air for... a while. We'll make it."

She forced a halfhearted grin. "Sure, we'll make it. Sure we will."

Kiana sighed. "Well, I have to get back and make sure no one's dying."

"Hopefully not," Sev replied sincerely. "Good luck." She stood up.

Kiana nodded and stood up. She saluted, as your supposed to do with the captain.

Sevania almost laughed out loud. "Please, don't," she said. "I like to think that I'm jsut as equal as everyone here. We're all on a desperate mission, so what the point of a feudal system?"

Kiana smiled a bit and put her hand down. "If you say so." She said. She hugged her friend, then nodded in farewell. "See you later."

She hugged her back. "See you, too."

Kiana smiled, then went back to the Sick room.

Sevania smiled back, then went to the cafeteria.

A siren sounded, the lights going red.

Kida opened the door and walked to a corner when no one would be able to see her face. She put her hammer back in her belt and took out what was in the frot pocket of her overalls. she closed her hand over the tiny bird cage with a tiny machanicl bird that was jumping around, she bit her lip and hummed softly to herself, but check first to see if anyone was around, seeing it empty she continued

Kida wrapped her fingers around the cage and put it back in her pocket. She bit her lip and looked off into space. It was dark, star bright, pitch black, closed in, so empty, so crowded. It was everything, but it WASN'T welcoming to her, but she did this for her dad and brothers, there was no time to be selfish here, but she couldn't go work, she'd embarrased her self enough, Laurin and the others were in a meeting, she didn't talk to anyone else, she was cranky, injured and upset.. She laughed remembering that her oldedt brother called her the W-A when she was like this (wounded animal). She looked at her gloved hands and rubbed her hands on her pants. She didn't know what to do, with any luck, SOMETHIG would happen to her and she'd be able to go back home,mabey. In any case, she didn't have a room mate, or room for that matter, so she'd just have to stay here.

Laruin feeling bored after helping repair the control room for the last few hours of his work, wandered into the Spider Bay.

Kida shrank into the corner trying to hide from who ever just walked in, she stayed silent and slowed her breathing to scilence it

She gritted her teeth and slid her hands into her boot hooking her fingers areound the brass knuckles, just in case

Kida bit her lip and crawled low under the spiders to see who was there

Laruin looked out the see-though dome. He could tell why his sister liked this part of the ship so much.

Kida saw it was Laruin and relaxed, but still remained frozen, then her little cage rolled out of her pocket on hit against his foot. She heard the little machanicle bird inside hoping around

Laruin looked down at the small mechanical cage, and the metal bird it contained. He picked it up and looked around in puzzlement.

Kida scooted back a bit and knocked something over then hit her head "OW!" she yelled rubbing the back of her head

Laruin looked over at her. "Kida?"

Kida stuck her gloved hand up "Hey...." she said followed by her head "Uh, yeah. Hi." she said pulling her self out from inbetween the spiders

Laruin chuckled and held out the mini cage. "This yours? Or were you just spying on me?"

Kida sized it quickly and put it in her pocket "It's mine" she said quietly "I was in here, just uh, uhm........" she pulled one leg out and hopped back pulling the other

Laruin smiled. "It must have been uncomfortable down there."

Kida tossed her head and blew her bangs."Naw." she scratched teh back off her neck. "I was, uhm.........."

"Taking a nap?" Laruin teased.

"No, uh.." she paused looking for a loop hole "What are YOU doing here?" she said putting her black gloved hands on her hips

Laruin smirked. "Since I finished helping in the control room, and I can't work, I decided to come to the place where my sister always said was beautiful. The last time I came to this part of the ship was when we were still docked on Earth."
