I'd like to suggest a group PM for nominations/voting. The M/M romance group does that, and I never forget to vote. I tend to fall behind on forums, and those reminders allow me to come visit, not just for voting, but to catch up on other threads.
Can I nominate another one? Desert Sons by Mark Kendrick.I've now read my previous nomination, although of course you can still go ahead and include it if you want :)

I just finished this and its sequel. Standard fare for coming out/of age novels. Enjoyable, but I didn't find anything really original in the books. Perhaps I've been reading too many of these lately.
Still I am hoping I like his SF novels.

How does everyone else feel?

Debbie, I just used your first selection for the poll. I will include our nominations that don't get selected in the next poll.

I understand what you mean about people who just vote without reading, but on the other hand, maybe receiving news of the poll would 'reactivate' some members. I don't log in too often but I do like to read the books. I can imagine I might not be around for a while and then something like a poll might get me interested again.

Please read the rules for nominating BEFORE you create your post!! And check our bookshelves to be sure you are not nominating something we have already read as a group!
Only ONE nomination per person.
Please be sure to post the title and author.
Authors may nominate their own books, but please be available for our group discussion if it wins.
Please add your selections here. Once we get a sufficient number of titles, I will start up a poll. Each person may choose one title.
Remember, the authors should be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered, or feature significant gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered characters in their work. Queer can be interpreted as broadly as we like.
Any genre (SF/fantasy, horror, romance, mystery), non-fiction, and classics are acceptable. Based on this criteria, we should have plenty of books to choose from. If you are nominating a title that is part of a series, please make sure to nominate the first book, unless we have already read it as a group.
The book discussion will start April 1 and continue through the end of May. This should give everyone sufficient time to obtain and read the book.
