I don't think that the hard one is possible. 9+9+1+4=23

9+3+9=21 Therefore, the missing number for that column is two. But, the diagonal, which is 4+1+0, with another 2, would only equal 7. Not 23.

The second one, however, is fine. I solved it. :)

in book one it said horizontically and vertically not necesarilly diagonally
