Art Club discussion

It depends... if you stomp off and slam your door (I've done that) I wouldn't really count as art. Same for if you lie in bed sobbing for an hour (I've done that too. For stupid reasons.). But you can express your feelings through art..

I have stomped but never sobbed on my bed, because it is quite uncomfortable. I agree with Silver, you can express your feeling through art, but showing emotions themselves...doesn't always count as art. I'm not saying that it NEVER counts as art because in certain cases it could. I'm saying that most of the time, showing feelings isn't really art.

That brings me to the question: How do you define art? It can be defined in so many ways that maybe even showing emotions counts as art. Wikipedia states: "Art is the product or process of deliberately arranging items (often with symbolic significance) in a way that influences and affects one or more of the senses, emotions, and intellect." Could the 'items' it refers to be emotions? Every site I look up art in gives me different definitions. I could rant about art for another few paragraphs but decided against it for the sake of members who are not interested in reading about my opinions.

What the heeeck, I'm lucky if I get a third of my work for the day done in that amount of time.

What's good about school is that half of it is art class and the rest is reading time. :D

wow. My mom is stressed about me getting into college. She's hoping I'll get into an ivy league college with financial aid because we can't afford a college. so far the only college I've looked at is Brown. any other ideas? I was excited about brown because I'd probably pass the choral audition now and the orchestra is pretty advanced - they're playing what my orchestra's playing now, so by then I'd probably be one of the best violinists which would be cool :)

I don't have any suggestions. Sorry :-/ the only school I really know about is the one my older sisters went to lol

Hmm, well when I'm mad I sometimes draw it out and the end result is funny. It's mostly violent but it still makes me feel better. The art is not very good though

When ever I'm mad and I draw my picture doesn't come out in proportion and so to me it looks bad but for some reason other people tell me it looks good but i think it looks bad

Sara is kinda sad....

Silver wonders why. Silver is kinda sad because her friend's friend died but Silver feels awkward not really knowing her "friend" very well...

Sara's reason isn't that sad lol. She's just kinda surprised by something someone she knows did... it's not anything bad, just unexpected.

Silver was texting her bff about the dragon she was drawing and something seemed off about the way her bff was talking (which Silver may have imagined, being paranoid about her bff since now she's almost died twice within the past two years) and she asked if she was okay and right then her bff turned off her phone/walked away and didn't get the text/didn't answer so of course Silver interpreted it differently :p

Oh btw, this is the friend of Silver's who just joined goodreads but hasn't had time to actually do anything on it yet.

Laura hasn't had any odd experiences lately and hopes Sara and Silver aren't terribly sad.

Laura is also extremely curious why Sara is sad because Sara was overly mysterious.

Talia listens to everyone talk, and getting curious because she's nosy.
