Sisters Of Romance discussion

Hi everyone,

I just joined this group. I didn't know it existed. How about recommending some good AA romance books and telling why you liked them?

I recommend Redemption's Kiss by Ann Christopher. I just got finished reading it. When a book elicits strong emotions from me, that's one reason why I would consider it good. This one does that.

The hero starts out as a no good SOB who cheated on his wife. His journey to win back his wife and them dealing with their past problems is a good one.

Anyone else enjoyed one you've read recently?

Just read Body Heat by Adrianne Byrd. I really enjoyed it even though the time spread of events seemed crazy to me. For instance, the heroine managed to (view spoiler)[...live in the hero's mansion for 18 months without anyone suspecting anything was wrong or, apparently, looking for her. When he arrived, she and the hero lived in pretend marriage for 3 months without anyone looking for them or him attending to his job which provided for such a luxurious lifestyle. (hide spoiler)]
This is part of a series, so now I'll have to look for all the other books in the series.

Did anyone else enjoy Whatever You Like? I thought it was a great book!

Just finished .Diary of an Ugly Duckling . I enjoyed it. It was touching and disturbing at the same time. did a good job addressing issues like color within the AA community. Great heroine too.

Tiphanie,I haven't read Whatever You Like yet, but I do have it. Maureen Smith is one of my fave authors, so I'm looking forward to reading it.

That's cool, Delaney, that you like Maureen Smith. Do you have any other books by her you would recommend?

Other books I am in process of reading is Traci Bee and Chicki Brown. I'll let you know how it goes after I finish them.

I like her Wolf family series. Start with Taming the Wolf. She also wrote a book with an unconventional, nerdy heroine named Whisper My Name.

I have not read any of these books but will be sure to put themon my TBR list.

Thanks, Delaney! I will look into that series. I feel like I'm a little behind on other romance authors, since I've been so focused on writing in the last couple of years.

But Shawna, I did enjoy Whatever You Like, so if you like a steamy romance with interesting characters, it's perfect.

I very much like Maureen Smith, Brenda Jackson,AC Arthur, and Frances Ray. I am quick to buy whatever they write. Whisper My Name is great, but I also love the Affair series by Maureen Smith. Brenda Jackson is like the Grande Dame of AA Romance to me. I am just waiting for some of the Madaris and Westmoreland men to materialize out of thin air. The Madaris and Westmoreland series of books are also really good choices to explore!

Oh yes! I forgot to say that Carmen Greene and Altonya Washington also have some good books in series.

Hi. I have read too many good romance books to name. My favorite authors include; Donna Hill, Brenda Jackson, Francis Ray, Rochelle Alers, Gwynne Forster, Carmen Green, Altonya Washington, Gwyneth Bolton, Adrianne Byrd, Michelle Monkou, Maureen Smith, Wayne Jordan, and others.

I like books that make me laugh, cry, get angry, root for the underdog, etc. Evoking emotions is a great trait of authors. This keeps me reading their books. Thanks!

Hi everybody!I have to suggest Mahogany's Pondby Nikida Taste. I read it and absolutely LOVED this book. It's so romantic & the relationship between the characters, to me, were nicely done. Please, lets discuss this book. I actually read it twice lol, thas how good it is.

Diary of a ugly duckling looks awesome! I'll have to TBR it!

I guess most of us are already hooked to Adrianne Byrd; try At First Kiss by Gwyneth Bolton (this is one of my favorites) or give me Fever by Niobia Bryant (this is my favorite of the series) and lastly AC Arthur, Temptation Rising; Defying Desire or any of the Donavan Series.

I'm reading Adrianne's King series now. I'm almost finished with King's Passion. I like that she writes atypical heroines.

I just finished reading 32 candles and I LOVED IT

I also read warm hands great book started and could not put it down

Hmmm...32 Candles looks interesting. Thanks for sharing it.

I would recommend Torn Apart by Cristina Grenier. I liked it alot. I think she's a new author but the story is good. I was really surprised by the book and the ending. Doesn't feel generic like some of the last titles i read.
