the author of our Feb/March book, Garbage Land: On the Secret Trail of Trash, also wrote Bottlemania: How Water Went on Sale And Why We Bought It, which is something I have been wanting to read.and a few years ago, i remember people raving about Blue Gold but I have not read it.
I love water issues, I want to get my Master's in water resources. Here's my list (mix of some I've read and some I want to):Cadillac Desert: The American West and Its Disappearing Water, Revised Edition
Aqua Shock: The Water Crisis in America
Water: The Epic Struggle for Wealth, Power, and Civilization
The Great Lakes Water Wars
Dry Spring: The Coming Water Crisis of North America
Out of Water
Bottlemania looks good...
Cadillac Desert is another I read for school, both as a first semester freshman and as a second semester senior. It was really interesting to note the changes in how I read the book and what I got out of it.Great Lakes Water Wars is a FANTASTIC book. I highly recommend it. Also Great Lakes Journey: A New Look at America's Freshwater Coast if you are interested in Great Lakes issues. That one focuses more on pollution and wildlife issues rather than water scarcity, though.
I just picked up Pandora's Locks: The Opening of the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway, and I'm really excited to read it. Obviously with me there is a Great Lakes theme.
I think we should get a poll started for May, so I'll include the books suggested, but what else would you guys like to maybe read related to water?
