Hi! I'm Emily, I'm 14, a book I like, I haven't read any Charles Dickens, but I like Watership Down.
Do you want to nominate a book to read in April? Nominating ends on Friday (like all the other groups).
Hi, it's me!
I haven't read a lot of Charles Dickens, but I started Oliver Twist a long time ago, but I didn't get to finish it. I've read a lot of excerpts from a lot of his books, and I can't name all of them, so there.

I am about at the same page as you. I've read A Tale of Two Cities and started Oliver Twist. I created this group to read more of Dickens's works.
I started A Tale of Two Cities, but I couldn't get past page 11.
Hi. When I was younger, I read "A Christmas Carol" and loved it. That love led me to "Oliver Twist" which I've read twice, and then to "Great Expectations". I tried "A Tale of Two Cities" and couldn't get into it, but that may have just been my faulty mindset due to life's circumstances. I'm also a fan of John Irving whose literary hero is Dickens. There's a fantastic essay he wrote entitled "The King Of The Novel" (published in "Trying to Save Piggy Sneed")which made me love Dickens AND Irving even more. If you like Dickens, it's worth a read!
The only Dickens book I've started was A Tale of Two Cities. Welcome!
Great! Glad that you like some of Dickens' works because most of us just haven't read them yet. All I've read are A Tale of Two Cities (one of my favorite books of all time) and A Christmas Carol. I've read a few other short stories as well like Mugby Junction, Mrs. Lirriper's Lodgings, and The Seven Poor Travelers.
Thanks for telling me about those short stories, Connor. I'll have to look them up and give them a read!
Your Welcome! Mugby Junction is better than the others. The Seven Poor Travelers is the most famous of the three I think.
Welcome new victim, er, member.
My thoughts exactly... o_O ...what did I get myself into? Some strange Dickenson-esque plot where I get cyber pickpocketed?
:) if they pickpocket me, they'll have almost 100 dollars, 50 cents in pennies, chap stick, and a pedometer.
lol... Emily, you can relax. I was just sayin' Chapstick's a valuable item! In other words, forget the $100, the Chapstick's what's worth stealing!
:) If you pick pocketed me, you'd get NOTHING!!!
Brenda makes this group say dumb things. :)
Omigod, you're amazing!!!
Omigod, you're amazing!!!
Thanks, Val...can I call you Val? Stay tuned for further antics! I'll try to keep things entertaining for you.
Hi Camilla! I read (and loved) A Christmas Carol but haven't read Great Expectations yet. Have fun in this group. We like it when active members join the group.
I don't know if it is but I can tell you that I'm having a hard time reading it.Hard and wonderful at the same time.
I like it for the challenge but I've been reading it for several months because I reread each chapter several times. And sometimes I give up for a while and come back later.
Thank you for leting me join your group. I'm reading tale of Two Cities and it seems, Bleak House (?)Since I've been able to download free ebooks, I have gonea little crazy reading classics as well as some rather obscure public domain books. Am having a wonderful time. Managed to get through War and Peace and even enjoyed it as well as Vanity Fair and The Moonstone.
Look forward to Dickens.
Kathy
Welcome Kathy! A Tale of Two Cities is my favorite book besides The Lord of the Rings. You will enjoy it. The last few pages are worth it (you'll see me post that a lot). Have fun and we hope you participate in the Bleak House discussion.
GAH! WE START READING IT ALREADY?!
Well, it doesn't start until April. I get the start dates messed up. The poll ended on the 5th but we start on the 10th. Sorry.
Oh! i panicked for a second. :P sorry
I read to page 11 on a PDF. I need to get it in print. :/
