Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) This is the place to pop in and say hi if you're new to the group. No pressure, this is optional, but we would like to be able to welcome you into our crazy little corner of GR.

Please feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself.

Jacqueline Seewald (jacquelineseewald) | 112 comments Hi, my name is Jacqueline Seewald. I'm a former teacher and librarian. I now write fulltime. I'm also an active reader. My last romance novel is
TEA LEAVES AND TAROT CARDS. Jayne Anne Krentz endorsed this paranormal sensual romance set in the Regency era.

I just finished reading a reissue by Diana Palmer entitled MAGNOLIA and enjoyed the unusual 1900 Atlanta, Georgia setting.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Welcome Jacqueline. Glad to have you with us.

Stacy (dulcet_tones) | 57 comments Hi all! I'm Stacy and I love to read just about anything fiction wise. Mostly I read Romance, Erotica, YA fictin, PNR, and Suspense.

Currently I'm reading The Viscount Who Loved Me (Bridgerton series #2) by Julia Quinn. I've also been attempting to read Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander series #2) by Dianna Gibaldon for the past month or so, but I'm having trouble getting into it.

message 9: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 25, 2011 12:22AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Welcome Stacy. We have a pretty varied group of readers, so there's often a pretty good chance you'll find someone who might be ready and willing to talk about what you're currently reading.

message 10: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline Seewald (jacquelineseewald) | 112 comments Hi, Stacy,

I've also read a number of novels by Julia Quinn.
I both read and write Regency romance. The Outlander series is really great.

STACY'S SONG--YA romance
TEA LEAVES AND TAROT CARDS--paranormal sensual romance
set in Regency era

message 11: by Leea (new)

Leea Hey Stacy!! Glad you found us :) I loved the Bridgerton series and the Outlander series is my favorite. Dragonfly in Amber was a little hard for me to understand all the French court dynamics. So I just read... that's my advice to you...keep reading. It's a wonderful series.

I'm Rebecca from Central NY - mom of 1, teacher of 103 8th graders this year. Treasure my breakfast as it is often my only time to read a few pages in piece and I'll read just about anything (although my hubby says my main characters are almost always women - a fact I'd never noticed).

message 21: by Leea (new)

Leea Welcome Rebecca! Wow 103 8th graders ~ you are amazing... Glad you found us.

message 24: by Shannon (new)

Shannon | 1 comments Hello,
I am Shannon and I live in Southern Indiana. I love Historical fiction with my favorite author being Sharon Kay Penman. I do like a lot of YA books. My favorite YA is The Hunger Games trilogy and The mortal Instruments along w/ Shannon Hale. I really have enjoyed Francine Rivers The Mark of the Lion series which takes place in Rome 62 A.D. I am always reading but find I never have anyone to talk about the books I read with. Hope to engage in some good talks with you all.

message 25: by Leea (new)

Leea Welcome Shannon. You are in the right place, we love to talk about books here. I'll have to look into the Francine Rivers Series. After reading Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn i've been so interested in Rome.

message 26: by BookCupid (new)

BookCupid Hi, I'm Natali from Montreal. And I mostly read YA's. A lot. I'd say I probably read three books a week.

It would be interesting to discuss books with someone other than my hubby since he usually just nods.

message 27: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Haha, that sounds just like my husband!

Welcome to the gropu Natalid. We're happy to have you. :)

message 28: by Leea (new)

Leea Mine to... But mine does retain the informations because he was telling me something about Jamie and Claire (outlander) the other day lol!!

Welcome to the 'Madness' Natalie D. Can't wait to talk books with you :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Welcome Rebecca, Englishrose, Shannon and Natali.

I totally get the nodding hubby thing. Mine does the same thing if I try to talk to him about books.

Eirian (EirianRane) Hello :)I'm Eirian from California; I would practically read anything I can get my hands on ^.^ Because I've probably read half the stories on fictionpress xD Yeah yeah, I'm still in school *rolls eyes*

I love historical fiction, stores that I can't predict, and stories that really allows you to understand the characters.

P.S Intelligent stories are awesome x3

message 34: by Mandi (new)

Mandi Tillotson Sloan | 1 comments Hi, I'm Mandi. :o) Since getting my kindle, I can't quit reading. I love books that are witty and funny but with a good story as well. Something that keeps you guessing. Any suggestions?

message 35: by Leea (new)

Leea Welcome Eirian and Mandi!!! Hope you find what you are looking for here... We do love books :)

Eirian - I'm from N. Cali :)

message 36: by Eirian (new)

Eirian (EirianRane) @Mandi Hello :)

@Leea Me too ^>^ Bay Area :]

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Welcome Eirian and Mandi. I'm a bay area native myself. :) I grew up in San Pablo, then moved to Vacaville as a teen before moving out of state in my 20's.

Mandi,

I haven't read many "humor" genre type books, but the Night Huntress and Mortal Instruments series have a lot of great one liners in them if you don't mind paranormals. I also hear the Jane Jameson books are funny, but I haven't read them.

If you like historicals, Lisa Kleypas writes some characters that are very amusing and are good for a smile. Her Hathaways series was constantly putting a smile on my face.

message 46: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (purplerose) | 12 comments Hi! I *love* to read, and I'll read just about anything. I've always loved romance novels, and I prefer historicals to contemporary, although I won't turn one of those down, either. LOL
My fave authors are Nora Roberts (and J.D. Robb), Diana Gabaldon, Marie Ferrarella, Julia London, just to name a few...
I read 4-7 books a week, fiction and non-fiction. I'm loving GR and I just wish I had had it years ago so I could keep up with all the books I've read and forgotten about. :-) (Of course, I had to throw a smiley face in there. LOL)
I'm always looking for GR friends, so if my more outrageous reading choices won't offend you, you're welcome to send me a friend request. :-)
