Q&A with Katie Salidas author of the Immortalis series discussion
Could you handle being a vampire?

I've always dreamed of being immortal, a Vampire and they are questions I have always asked myself. Could I take the life of another to sustain my own.
Yes I could, not an innocent life though. I would want to take the life of the scumbags that hurt our children and get away with it. The evil doer I suppose you could call it. Drinking blood wouldn't bother me as I already eat my red meat bloody.
The only thing now after becoming a mother and grandmother is that the idea of outliving them to me is not appealing. I think in the end if I was to become immortal then I would be turning my family once they had reached an age where they had lived, raised their family etc so long as they would be happy to be turned.

You bring up a good point. Outliving all of your friends and relatives would be very hard. It would be tempting to turn them all. However, if everyone adopted that method, the world would end up being peopled with vampires.

Oh I would definitely want to see the changes as time moved on. That would be very neat. I just don't know that I could kill for survival. I suppose you are right though. Animals in the wild prey on weaker creatures for food. It's survival 101. Maybe... Hmmm.
I suppose the killing question is the kicker for most. Sure you could probably say "good bye" to the sun. Self tanning spray could cover the pale complexion. Being a night owl isn't really all that bad. Most fun happens at night anyway, right?
But, being forced to kill and drink blood would be the hardest thing to deal with. If you were in the MC's shoes, could you do it, or would you starve yourself? Would immortality be worth the lives of others?
