I have been meaning to read A Tale of Love and Darkness by Amos Oz for a while. Looks a bit different, and very emotional
Ellie wrote: "anything by Henning Mankell"Have you read any books by Henning Mankell? I read his profile, sounds like he might be similer to Steig Larssen. I think I'm definitely going to look into this.
The Dogs of Riga might be a good one. Or The Fifth Woman: A Kurt Wallander Mystery. Or even Firewall. I think they're all part of the Kurt Wallander series.
Like Ellie I'd be happy with anything by Henning Mankell I've only read a couple of his books and am very fond of Scandie crime.
I would also be interested in one of the Wallender books, to see how they stacked up against the TV series (both of them).
So far the nominations list is as follows. Are there any more suggestions for the May read? I think we should start voting on Monday 4-18-11. Thanks. Eric.
The Woods
The Dark Tide
A Tale of Love and Darkness
The Dogs of Riga
The Fifth Woman
Firewall
The Dogs of Riga are on the loose, of the 2 closest library copies, one is on loan and one in transit between libraries ............... might need a trip to amazon.
Am I being a bit thick here, but why is the of the month Dogs of Riga and not The Woods which won the poll. I'm not complaining, I'll read both, just confused!
ChrisOn the poll I saw half the votes wanted to read The Woods and the other half wanted to read something by Henning Mankell. So I thought we could have two books for the May Read. I should have sent an e-mail out. Sorry for the confusion
