My holiday story, The Christmas Caper, is free for the next five days on Amazon. Just consider it my Christmas gift to you all (instead of the 2lb boxes of chocolate truffles I was planning on getting for you all).http://www.amazon.com/The-Christmas-C...
I'm rather partial to truffles. I was wondering if over on Cookie's Book Club it would appear too, too greedy to enter for the free giveaways, in hope of getting one of your books, Christopher. Thanks for this story.
Unlike Gerald Ford, though I supposed chewing gum while you walk is at a higher level of endeavor, especially if you're The Leader of the Free World, than reading and eating chocolates.
His claim to fame was that he was the Last Honest Man in Congress.Amazing, there were 2 - him and Jimmy Carter.
March 3 and March 4, Tales of Christmas Magic is free at amazon. Short stories from School of the Ages, including the shocking "Goldberry vs. Santa Claus."http://www.amazon.com/Tales-of-Christ...
The Storyteller is free on kindle tomorrow Wed. 28th. Doing minimal promo, but thought I might as well take advantage of my free free day for the Select one they messed up during read an Ebook week, kench.
Hoppin' on board the 'Amazon is inept' train. Good thing I was doing minimal promo, or I'd have egg all over my face. Amazon managed to screw up the free free day they were giving me for screwing up the last one. Yep, you guessed it. Not free today as promised. One can only shake their head and KENCH!
Did you know they had Kindle books unavailable yesterday? I don't know how long it lasted, but people were talking about it in the forum.
Poltergeist! Or its equivalent in the IT world. Don't know about everyone else but everything seems whacky, everywhere, out there...
Apparently the HP thing did a number on Amazon when the ebook were released. Clogged up the Pottermore site and Amazon acted up.
Harry Potter. All the Harry Potter e-books became available the other day and the rush caused...well what Claudine said. :0
I wonder if that's true about the HP effect. I've noticed a big lag in receipts arriving when I "purchase" free books now. Hours go by when it used to be instant. I'm wondering if Amazon is tinkering with their software.
I've not had that problem with any purchases recently. I've been on their site watching for book releases and their notifications have been almost immediate.

Oh, kench! I am sooo out of the loop, sigh...
'Course that still doesn't explain why I (along with almost every golf course I've called in the US to book a tee time - and half the hotels) am having so many IT probs. I am certain we must be overloading the billions of servers already in use. Is there a tipping point, one wonders...
LOL! I forgot you are a golfer Sharon. Here in Afrikaans it's called moer en soek - hit and try to find would be the closest translation although moer means so much more than just hitting the ball, it's more a beat the damn thing until you can't anymore then look for the ball. What are golf prices like over yonder?

Kench.
Kench.
Kench, Claudine. Sometimes it is like that for me, but mostly I just hit it straight and not very far. Apparently I have a natural swing which is pretty to watch, so when I play with guys they are watching the swing and hearing the lovely swoosh-strike of titanium hitting the sweet spot. They don't see that it has only gone maybe 140 yds to their 300 because mine is in the middle of the fairway and they are off to search the weeds. And they laugh at my putter which is the only one I have ever owned, has a wooden head and looks like an old persimmon driver. It's a pretty burgundy colour and has no marking lines whatsover on it and created quite a stir last year when we played at 'The Best Golf Course in America' at Bandon Ore. The caddies would motion over every new suspect who stood nearby to show them, all the while cackling how I was the best putter of the group. The guys, of course, all of whom had the latest technology in putters, which give them a dozen line-up lines, barriers on the edges and all manner of other gizmos meant to help their score, just thought I was having a lucky streak. I never tell them my score, but they keep it in their heads and beat themselves up for hours about me 'beating' them. Mark Twain said of golf that it is a good walk spoiled, but for me it is always a feeling of communing with nature while playing a game. The score is secondary and unless I have the good fortune to play with a scratch golfer, I barely notice what the others I am 'beating' are doing.
Kench, I got so caught up in my own story I forgot to mention prices. This year the most expensive we are playing is $65 each. Tee times on those courses would likely rise to well over $100 in the summer. Last year at Bandon, where the name does not only come from the links-type course but has similar weather to its namesake in Ireland near where Andre lives and thus is never warm enough for me and one always walks besides with a tilt from the prevailing wind, the price was outrageous. (tee hee, I do tend to run-on sentences, but that might almost be a record). Most courses worth playing in North America run from a modest $40 to $100 a round. For this trip, early as it is in the Spring, we are probably averaging below $40.

Just to let you know that my book 'Daydream Believers' will be FREE on Amazon for Kindle/PC download from Sunday 5th June to Thursday 9th June 2016. All I ask is that you tell your friends and leave a review.
It's about a bunch of old people, ex service men and women all, find they are no longer willing to sit back and allow the politically corrupt to ruin their country. They resolve to make a stand, to arm themselves and to fight, to rid the land of their greedy leaders, to attack the political elites in their haven, the Houses of Parliament.
The workmen argue and bluster and generally mess up, the three fat ladies take advantage of the digital age to seduce their unsuspecting prey.
The superstar footballer and his trophy wife reveal the self destructive nature of their life together and their pointless marriage.
A lucky couple win the lottery and find the pressures of new found wealth and family envy hard to handle.
A young East European finds herself prostituted until she meets her chivalric knight.
A mad eyed preacher tries to lecture the world back from the abyss.
The avenging 'Hand of God' meets out justice against criminal pimps from his community.
A homicidal diarist decides he's had enough and plans to kill members of the selfish 1%.
And then there's the return of Blackmore, the spy master general.
Happy reading and hope you have a good week.
Cheers
