i am still reading The Red Pyramid. Its getting better, last week it was pretty boring, but now its getting a lot better. The main characters are finally learning about their past and whats going on at the moment.----
I dont normaly pay attention to peer advertising. Probably makes me hard to lure in. but i do laugh once in awhile at the advertisements. An example of it would be like the KIA commercials.
-----------
Taxing Multinationals Pricing and Corporate Income Taxation in North America.
I probably wont read it, only read the title and that didnt even get close to catching my attention.
I am currently reading Slam, and i just ended it today it was a good book just about a kid named slam and his life of basketball on and off the court, but the ending was kind of bad it didnt leave you with any closure to the book.My peers arent tht influenced by advertisements, and either am i, what gets my peers to buy something is just seeing something they like or know that they need, and im not sure what types
STILL reading the Gunslinger but I'm quickly coming to a close. With the kid who tagged along with Roland dead; the only thing between him and the man in black is 4 feet and a camp fire. I'm eager to see how this ends._____
I have no idea how influenced my peers are. I can safely say that a lot of people I've seen at school are pretty easily affected by advertising. As for me, I rarely pay any attention to advertising. From time to time I look at an ad or two but that is merely because the live video stream requires ads to continue being free. Quite frankly, I couldn't care any less about the 100% reinvented Explorer van. However, one ad that pisses me off to no end are those "Your computer is infected!" ads. They are obviously viruses and it just makes me angry that they will go to such lengths to try and scam computer-unsavvy people.
_____
Chirpy Chick Large Format
No. Just... No...
I am still reading "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia. It's going good, I am having no trouble understanding it. Right now there is some conflict and mystery taking place between the main character and another new character.
I think my peers are pretty influential at this age. They want to fit in and belong to some sort of group. I am rather in the middle, because I am more drawn into commercial ads or ones found in the newspaper. Seeing their friends with the product, or a person they admire may persuade them to buy the product.
I got "Mythos: A collection of erotic shorts on popular mythological themes". It sounds weird so no I do not want to read it.
I am reading Brian's Winter
. It is the continuation of Hatchet if Brian hadn't been rescued before winter. It is very interesting and easy to follow. There's a lot of action like stuff but its mostly hunting and animal attacks.Teenagers are really influenced by advertising. We see happy people using some hair product or wearing some designer clothes and we want to be like that. I kinda am but I don't have money to buy fancy expensive stuff. Teens like comercials with a lot of people in them.
I got 2009-10 EASTERN COLLEGE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY SEASON, no, I don't like sports books and espeially not hockey.
I just finished reading "The River" by Gary Paulsen. It's a sequel to the "Hatchet." It was a great book and easy to read.Peers are easily influenced by ads if they pertain to them. Advertisements bring me into stores, but I hardly buy something. Teens will buy something if they have the money or their parents will buy it for them. Ads that will get my attention includes anything that interest me.
Title: "Keyboarding: Approach to Basic Typewriting Skills" by: Derek Stanought. I do not want to read a book about learning how to type on a computer.
I am still reading "The Adventures of Flash Jackson". Flash dicovered that she can look into the future and she talks to her mom about it and her mom can do it too but she stopped ever since she saw her husband dying in a fire that soon came true. ----------------------------------
My brother is very influenced by advertising, he's sees somthing on t.v that's really cool and he wants it. Im kind of influenced by it but not on t.v it's more on the internet and things I read in magazines. What gets my peers to buy somthing is how fun the product is and where they can use it. I think what gets us teenagers to buy somthing is how cool it looks and what it can do, like for exapmle the iphone, you can do everything with an iphone like pictures, messageing and facebook all on the go.
----------------------------------
Tile: The Next Thing on My List by: Jill Smolinski. I read the summary and it sounds like a really good book so I would read it.
I am still reading "Burned" by Ellen Hopkins.
I still really like this book. It is going very well. It is keeping me interested with all of the conflicts. I can't wait to see how everything turns out in the end.-------------------------------------------
My peers are very influenced by advertisements. I can be easily influenced by advertisements but only if it is something I am already interested in. Things that make my peers buy something are if they just see it and want it or if they know something that someone else has and they want it they will go buy it. Advertisements that will get my friends to buy something are seeing peers having it. Also if they see someone famous that has something it could make it seem more important for them to get so they will buy it.
--------------------------------------
My Favorite Book of Numbers (Board Books). I would not read this for myself because it is a childrens book but I might read it to a kid.
I am still reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
. It is still going well, the story has moved form Switzerland to Rome and is really starting to heat up. I think there will be a twist in the plot soon.---
I think my peers can be heavily influenced by advertising. I am not as heavily influenced by advertising. Most commercials don't influence me, it is really hit or miss with almost everything. The types of ads that get me are the really well produced ones, the ones that took a lot of time and planning and have really good selling points. Or if I just happen to like the product.
---
"Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott
I most likely won't read this book. Not my type.
[bookcover:Faces of Fear|2237784 I'm still reading faces of fear and have conquered nearly half of it. I've grown bored with the story since all the characters ever do is go to school and work. But i'm anticipating a miraculous ending since this book has been ranked so high. --
My peers are greatly influenced by advertising due to the fact that its everywhere and we live in the states and want everything. I'd like to think of myself as less influenced than my peers but that probably could be proved false in some way. What gets me to purchase something is if i'm convinced that i NEED it or that i will benefit from the purchase significantly. I think that this is what motivated most people as well.
--
Ladens Mammoth
...No thanks.
Update: I am currently reading nothing. I am looking for a new book to read. I finished Don't die my love. I had a very sad ending. My peers are very influenced. I can be easily influenced but than again I'm not if I really want something than I am influenced. How funny the ads are gets my peers to buy the item. Cell phone and car ads get teens attention.
Schliemann Defense, Volume 1: Tartakower Variation ...
no thanks
I am currently reading Hatchet By Gary Paulsen
. I dont know what its about yet because i havent started reading. The only thing i know is that its a good book and ive heard good things about it
I'm still reading The true adventures of Charley Darwin.
I am currently a little over half way done and the story is getting a little boring. I hope I can finish this book and start my second one by the end of the month but I don't see that happening.I would say that kids my age are very influenced by advertising because of all the tobacco ads in magazines and the beer and alcohol ads on TV. I feel I'm the same way as the rest of my peers. The things that get my peers' attention and gets them to buy something is probably hot women for the guys and hot guys for the ladies. Also, the funnier the commercial is, the more a teenager wants that product or at least pays attention to the commercial.
"The Silken East VI: A Record Of Life And Travel In Burma"
It sounds like the worst book in the history of bad books so no, I would never read it.
I just finished
. It was overall a good book but I wish the ending was different. I picked out
to read next but I havent started it yet.I think my peers are pretty influenced by advertising. I am easily influenced. The music and colorful ads get my peers attention. Car ads for sure get teenagers attention because they are just getting their license
UPDATE Deltora Quest: The Shifting Sands. They just got away from the city of the rats. They threw away their red garments from the Razcatcharz. Leif put the opal in its rightful spot in the belt of Deltora and are now heading towards the shifting sands.

DISCUSSION
my peers are very influenced by advertising. I am not very influenced by advertising because I do not see much of it and don't need the stuff that is being advertised. Other peers that have something cool is what influences my peers to buy something. Stuff that get people my age to purchase items is others that have the item(s).

ACTIVITY
PDF with Acrobat 4 (Visual QuickStart Guide).
I would not read this book because it seems dumb.
UPDATE:
Right now I am still reading The Little Lady Agency and I am halfway through. Melissa is starting to realize that she may have more feelings for her client Jonathon than her other persona Honey may show. She also has been told by her greedy father that she has to plan her sister Emery's wedding because she owes him money for a loan. Her best friend Gabi is also getting married and she fears it isn't for love, and they have just had a big fight.DISCUSSION:
I think my peers are just as easily influenced by advertising as adults. I am also influenced too. I think advertisments that tell people they will improve themselves are what we are drawn to. Things my peers tend to buy are things that they are told are "cool".
ACTIVITY:
Edgycute: From Neo-pop to Lowbrow and Back Again by Harry Saylor
I would consider reading this book because it is about art.
I am currently reading Take me There.
So far the book is going good. I'm about 30 pages into it.I think my peers and myself are easily influenced by advertisments. I think the ads that gets our attention by using pretty, bright colors.
Rime of the Solitary Sea Gull and Other Poems: A Celebration of Life and Love by:Franklin D. Evans, D. Evans Franklin D. Evans
I would not want to read it because I don't like reading much of pomes.
I finished reading Firefly Lane
and it was really good. I now started Heaven is For Real
. It is really good so far and I can't wait to see what happens.I teens are very influenced by advertising. I think I am influenced by it because if i see one of my friends with something I like I have to get it. I like the ads that has to do with something I'm interested in. The type of adds that get my attention are the ads with famous people in them.
Compassion Yoga: Mystical Cult Of Kuan Yin (Mandala Books)
I don't think I would read this book.
I am currently reading white is for magic by Laurie Faria Stolarz
. Its going good right now. I am on page 19. It's really just getting into her nightmares right now.____________________
I think people are really influenced by advertising. I know that i am influenced by advertising. If a product of advertisement looks good I think people are more influenced to buy it. I think magazine or tv ads get people's attention.
_______________
The Heartstone Odyssey: Chandra's Story:
I wouldn't read this book.
Right now I am reading Brian's Winter by Gary Paulsen. Its another book about how Brian has to face the harsh outdoor weather of winter. He has to deal with wolves, a bear, skunk, and even a porcupine. He makes his own shelter, clothing, and food from all of the animals that he kills with his bow and arrows, which he also made himself.
I don't really know how influenced people in our school are by advertising. I guess if it looks cool and fun to do people are gonna do it no matter what age. Im only influenced by advertising if it gets my attention and looks fun. What gets us to buy stuff is if everybody's doing it or has it. Nike ads and other clothing/shoe adds get our attention. Whatever's the in thing, thats what teenagers are going to try and buy.

Have A Nice Doomsday: I think I would read this book cause it sounds kinda cool
I am currently reading shadows by john saul. Its an intense mystery book just like all of john sauls books. Its about a bunch of kids who are genius's working on artificial intelligiance.
I think alot of people dont fall for advertising to much just because its so cheesy. You can tell when there just trying to throw some slogan at you. The only time advertising influences me is when im sitting at home starving and i see a commerical for a food place. I think ads that pertain to certain peoples wants/needs are the ads that get people to buy stuff. So something to do with music or sports or something along those lines will probably influence teenagers.

UPDATE
What book are you currently reading? how is it going? Make sure to add the cover. At least three sentences.
