Guys in books are just... well... better! discussion

Do you guys think it's "good for us" to have been captured by fictional characters. And for that matter, does anyone really care if it may not be the best way for us to think lol? I personally think it is absolutely fine :p

HAHA, I LOVED the actor as Cedric but he is an ugly edward lol. He was a cute Cedric but he jst cant get up to edwards standards at all. Whgich I know is impossible but... I think its a split with how many people tihnk the actor is hot and the ones that dont. Like I said I think he is cute JUST NOT AS EDWARD!

um.... i don't no of any actor that can completly satisfy our expectations of Edward lol..yah he was a cute Cedric, i think he's doing a pretty good job but his hair could have been more copper

I don't see anything wrong with it. I think that in most cases it gives us standards. I can't imagine reading a book and not falling in love with the hero. Or villain, as the case may be in some instances.

I think it gives us expirence in a way. Shows us a viewpoint on a certian type of guy. I mean all people are different but it does give us some insight. Or at least I think so.

yah i guess it gives us an idea on what kind of guy is right for us!

You are completely right. haha I mean we could go with the whole some story teach you morals and stuff or history but really its the guys that add the special twist to a lot of books haha

All my sisters are like this, and my mom knows it. I don't care/worry about it. They're not real. If they were... then stalking would be added into the mix... lol, jks. It's fun to read and can't help it if I become a teensy bit obsessed with certain characters. Hey, Parents, I'm READING!

I know they should be happy that we enjoy reading so much! Haha regardless of our motivation to continue hehe

A little part of me says it's not healthy, but most of me says it's ok. In some cases it warns us what kinda guys to look out for, well showing you the guy who are ok. It gives you a whole look at relationships and stuff. Best though, it lets us get away from the everydayness of our lives, and lets us day dream about the perfect guy.

I totally agree with you Emily i think it helps discover exactly what(who) your looking for, but at the same time you don't want to compare your dream guys (the perfect ones in books lol) with the real ones too much because you could find one that shares a lot of the qualities and ignore him because he is not exactly the same.Or you could become so particular in guys that you don't see them for who they are!

lol he is perfect i think cuz lol like you said he's dreamy,protective,and doesn't have a huge ego! Edward never came across as abusive to me, he just had problems controlling his strength so he didn't hurt Bells,lol i guess we all see character a little differently.So yeah lol its impossible to find another 'Edward'!

No, I think we view him very much the same! He is a little emotional abusive is what I'm saying. One minute he says he loves Bella and will stay with her forever and the next second he's like "No! I shouldn't be with you!" But other than that I love him so much!

Yeah, why does everyone accuse him of being perfect? Sure I say he is because he's my dream guy, but the reason I love him is because he's NOT perfect.

lol same here, it would be terrible to date a guy who was perfect. i would want a guy who's not perfect so i wouldn't feel so bad and could comfort them. Edward falls in to that category lol
