The alpha everybody hypes but you
I'm going with Jamie. His character wasn't, for me, Alpha material. He was "just" a good 'ole boy from 200 years ago.
Hey East, why did the library and grammar group go private?Dang, I can't type today. Edited for typos.
That's a perfect way to describe Jamie--a good ol' boy!
Don't know why L&G went private--but I asked :D Should get an answer in the Intro/Welcome post.

I feel the same Jamie isn't alpha to me. He was in one part in Outlander, but beyond that one scene he isn't. Love him by the way :)
I second what Kim said!Never read Outlander. Not sure if I ever will. There is so much hype over that one and too many conflicting reviews. Plus it is written in first person ...
Well, he was too Uber for my tastes, but I did love the book.:)I don't think too many women would put up with a guy like that in real life, but this is fantasy, so...:D
Oooo NU read Dangerous Games and tell me what you think --what an a-hole I thought that guy was (grrr!)
LOL! Well, at least he inspired strong feelings. xD I might as well start the series from the beginning. I kinda jumped into it midway.
East, are you knockin' my main man Clint again?! LOL!!!NU, make sure you start with Reno's story first. It was part of an anthology. Real Men Do It Better (I believe - it's been awhile!)
Don't tell me you liked Clint Tammy! (lol!)
NU "strong feelings" certainly describes sentiments towards ol' Clint's character (lol!)

Yep! Clint probably came off as a jerk at times and deserved to be smacked around for being overly-protective, but he was manageable. Not the snuggly type, but manageable. And all man. =)
I am not married to a bossy man so I guess that is why I dont mind the men I read about to be a little on the bossy side.
I don't really mind "normal" bossy, it's the extreme bossy ones that have this "do it because I said so" attitude that drive me crazy 8-)
New_user,I do not know why I thought you read Dangerous Games. Yes, you need to read it. I have reread it a couple of times. I just love Clint's character. I found my self laughing out loud in a few scenes. I loved Morregana. She was not a weak character. Strong men need strong women to put up with them...
LOL, Cheryl. I've noticed the women are stronger in that series. I can't say I dearly loved the heroine from Killer Secrets, but I might like Morregana better.
new_userI think you will love her. I laugh now just thinking of a few of her scenes, which were not suppose to be funny per se.. let me know what you think of her.
East, it's funny because in real life I can't STAND bossy men. Try to tell me to "do it because I said so" and watch what happens. lol But for some reason, I LOVE the bossy heroes. Even the extreme bossy ones. Weird, right? Now, with that said, I'll have to check out this Clint guy you girls are talking about. lol
Oh!! I think you will love him!! I do enjoy the interaction between Morregana and him and also her interaction with his friends.. A couple of scenes I was laughing so hard I had to put the book down and my daughter looked at me like I was just strange. I tried to explain what was so funny and all I can say is it is not the same as reading up to the point. It took me a while before I could start again without tears coming to my eyes. Lora Leigh does have a sense of humor. I always enjoy that in a book.I cannot be the only one who saw humor in Morregana. I really enjoyed her.
I love it! Another person pimping Clint in Dangerous Games. Look what you started East! =)~Lora Leigh definitely writes a strong alpha female.
Right now it's Wraithe from Larissa Ione's Passion Unleashed. He's too much of an "in your face" big and brash alpha. I didn't like him.
Derek Craven from Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas. I just didn't get it. I absolutely loved Clint from Dangerous Games by the way.
Creeker wrote: "Derek Craven from Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas. I just didn't get it. I absolutely loved Clint from Dangerous Games by the way."lol, I'm the opposite. I loved Derek but hated Clint.
Agnes, a lot of readers love Derek but I preferred Alex from Then Came You in the Gamblers series. As for Clint (**shudder shudder**) god I hate that guy (lol!) His dumb-ass bossiness just sent me over the edge (lol!) and I like a good uber but a classy one like Anne Stuart's Ice heroes :D
LOL Agnes! Taka was my least favourite Ice man! You must really like them extra uber then ;) Have you read Behind Closed Doors by Shannon McKenna? That's another psycho I didn't like ;)
Killian I think his name was in Isobel's story --I thought he was really mean ;)
Good luck with McKenna. It's a really big series too.

Auntee, Seth is an ASS! Just a step below Clint but an ass nonetheless :D Btw him and that TSTL broad in the story it was a wonder I made it through the book 8-)

Auntee, oh yeah I stopped that series fast and thank god too! Way too many to buy (lol!)
Creeker, Then Came You is one of my favourite Kleypas books :)
