I saw that one of our members noted we don't have an Introduction topic, so here goes.

Tell us a little about yourself and when you started reading Agatha Christie's books.

I'll start off.

I live in the Sacramento, California. I started reading Agatha Christie's books way back in the 1970s after I watched one of the movie adaptions on TV and have loved her ever since. I have a ton of her paperback and started collecting the leather bound volumes because she's one of my favorites.

I live in Zagreb, Croatia. I'm a student of the 4. year, Romanian language and literature and Polish language and literature.

My first crime book was Agatha Christie's, but I can't tell the exact title, because I started to read her books as a little child.

Agatha Christie is definitely my #1 favorite author, followed by Patricia Cornwell. My favorite books are Murder on the Orient Express, Ten Little Niggers and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.

My favorite character is Poirot. Since it would be to hard to list all the reasons why I love him, I'll just add some quotes. "This affair must be unravelled from within.' He tapped his forehead. 'These little grey cells. It is "up to them"-as you say over here."; ''I'm not a 'bloody little Frog!' I am a bloody little Belgian!'' and ''The impossible could not have happened, therefore the impossible must be possible in spite of appearances.''

HI! I just joined this group the other day. I live in Iowa in a house overflowing with books. I read my first Christie book back in the 1970's. She is definitely one of my favorite authors, and I'm intrigued by the idea of reading her works in order. This month, I'm going to try to read the books published before "The Blue Train Mystery" so I can catch up with the group.

I'm Ivan. I started reading Christie way back in 2010 :o) what took so long? No idea. The Bright Young Things" group read The Mysterious Affair at Styles a few months ago - and that was my first Christie. I'm now in the middle of The Body in the Library - and I'm loving it.

I've seen only a few of the BBC Poirot/Miss Marple series - loved The Murder at the Vicarage and the recent Murder on the Orient Express, Cat Among the Pigeons and Hallowe'en Party - the last two featured scripts by Mark Gatiss who also starred in and adapted The First Men in the Moon and the new "Sherlock" series. Anyway, looking forward to more Christie.

I'm Katie and I've been reading Agatha Christie since 2007. First time I'd ever heard of Agatha Christie was when my high school theatre group performed Towards Zero. I grew up reading children mystery books (Nancy Drew, Boxcar Children, Trixie Belden) but I'd outgrown them and was looking for something to replace them with. I guess you could say the first Agatha Christie I read was Towards Zero, but it was just the script. The first of her novels was And Then There None, still my favorite! After that I was hooked.

Well I need to do some catch up so it'll be you and me this month. I'm trying to convince my husband that if I only had one more bookshelf, all my books would be organized. I'm crossing my fingers that we find something this weekend. For some reason he doesn't like stacks beside the bookshelf - I have no idea why.

My name's Laura and I only started reading Agatha Christie about 6 months ago but I got hooked right away. It's made me interested in other mysteries as well. I've read 20 something of her books so far but I'm on a mission to eventually read all of them. My favorite is And Then There Were None and my least favorite is Passenger to Frankfurt.

Two authors from around that time that I love are Patricia Wentworth and Josephine Tey. Josephine Tey's are not humorous but are still really good.

Hi, Mike here. I live just outside of Philadelphia, PA. I've been reading Agatha Christie novels since I was 10 years old. In fact, "A Murder Is Announced" was the first mystery I ever read. I never knew that there were books available that concerned themselves with the crime solving until I "met" Ms. Christie. I look forward to reading one of her novels each month along with the book discussion group. Thanks for letting me be a part of this circle.

Hi, Anirban here, from Calcutta, India. My first brush with with a Christie novel came when I was in 6th standard in my school. Our school library was full of Agatha Christie, and as seniors, for the first time, it was a unknown pleasure of reading a thriller, which, according to my parents, was meant for "Grown-ups". It was way back in 1996, 15 years have gone by, but the love and appreciation for her writing hasn't withered, on the contrary it has grown at an alarming rate. Thank you Dame Christie, for being my best friend, cause even in todays world of Larrsson and Nesser or Grafton, I still, proudly, rate you as my favorite author. :)

My father's cousin just gave me her entire Agatha Christie collection which is actually all of Christie's books - except for the ones that were only published in U.S. and the Westmacott books.

I've read some of her books when I was younger, but now I'm going to start from an end and read all of them.

So far my favourite is The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

Hi everyone! I live in Iowa and I'm not sure when I read my first Christie, but I know I read my first Westmacott novel about 30 years ago. I did a grand tour of Christie back in 1991-1992 while living in Germany. Christie's books were the easiest, and the best, to find in English.

I love Poirot, but I joined the group because I really want to discuss The Mysterious Mr. Quin with someone. I don't know anyone who has read these stories. They are really interesting.

I'm currently reading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd! So far I really enjoy it. Poirot's about to gather everyone at his house, to announce the murderer I suppose. Always my favorite part of the book! Running through all the suspects, the evidence against them, and in a final twist unmasking the murder! Haha. I love it!

I've read the The Mysterious Mr. Quin! It was a while ago but I still have the book. I'd totally discuss it with you. You could probably start a new discussion and it'd be easy for other members to see and comment on as well.

Thanks for the offer, Katie! But, I noticed that Mr. Quin is slated for discussion beginning in August. That's one of the reasons I finally decided to join the group. I look forward to re-reading it, and discussing it then.

Mr. Harley Quin was certainly a bit of a departure from Poirot and Marple.

Hi...saw a sort of discussion on Roger Ackroyd, thought of putting in a word :). I read this book in 2005, one of my all time favorite. You guys should check out the TV movie with David Suchet. They changed the ending slightly in that movie. Watch it to see whether you like the change. (i personally didnt like it!) :) :)

Hi, my name is Nike and I live in Indonesia. I love to read, esp mystery novel. I started reading Christie when I was still in highschool (forgot the title), since then she was one of my favourite author :)
My favourite character is Captain Hastings, Poirot's "mon ami". My favourite Christie's books are "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" and "And Then There Were None".

"The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" is a fantastic book...I loved it!

Finished "Roger Ackroyd." Someone spoiled the ending for me last year so I already knew who did it, but it was still pretty good. Still, I think I would have liked it more if I hadn't known ahead of time "who dunnit". It was different and creative.

Hello everyone. Im Annamarie. I read AC back in the 80's and have encouraged a lot of ppl to read her books. HP is my favorite. Hastings makes me laugh. Japp is a great character. I have read all of the HP series at least 2 times w/some 3. I hope everyone enjoys her books and shares them w/family and friends. She is the Dame they titled her. She is missed.

Hello everyone!
I live in Oslo, Norway, and have been slightly obsessed with Agatha Christie since I was about ten years old. I have all the mystery books, and have read them god-knows how many times;) I love most of them, but some of my favourites are the Tommy and Tuppence books, Nemesis, Sleeping Murder, and The Labours of Hercules. The ones I like the least? Hmmm... The Murder on the Links, Mrs McGinty's Dead (although I LOVE Ariadne Oliver), and some of the short story collections, I guess. Although I re-read those as well;)

I haven't actually read any Christie for some time now, so I think I'll start going through them again together with you. I've discovered the audio versions on Audible, and think I might give them a try:)

Hello all! Love intro threads - so many different lives, with this one common thread.

I was born in California, but my family moved back to Canada (where they lived before I was born) when I was 6, and I've been here since.

I've been a fan of mysteries for as long as I can remember. When I was very little it was the likes of Nate the Great, the Bobsey Twins, and Encyclopedia Brown; I was about 10 or 11 by the time I'd graduated to Agatha Christie.

And Then There Were None was the first Christie book I ever read, and I still hold it as her best and my favourite. :)

I'm working my way through all of her works - have read about 30 of her novels/short stories so far.

Welcome Alberthe! When we're all done with the Christie books (7 years from now someone estimated), we should read her alias books too.

I am an Aussie living in the United Arab Emirates. I began reading Agatha Christie, out of desperation {to be brutally honest}. There were few options in the only library that I had access to, when I moved to Abu Dhabi three years ago... My first Agatha {we're on first name basis now :} was 'The Thirteen Problems'. What a pleasure! I don't generally read crime or thriller fiction, but Agatha has become a wonderful travel companion and I have even had the pleasure of registering her books and releasing them into the wilds of the world through www.bookcrossing.com

Hello everyone! I'm Jackie and I live in North Carolina. I am an avid mystery reader and have been an Agatha Christie fan for all of my adult life. I've read nearly all of her books over the years but have recently started re-reading them. My favorites are the ones featuring Miss Marple. I'm looking forward to reading and discussing with this group.

Hi! I was so excited to find this book club! I first read the Miss Marple stories when I was 12 or 13, but I became an Agatha Christie fanatic in earnest in 2006-07 when I was in library science school. Since then, I've dedicated myself to reading all of the Hercule Poirot novels (4 unread novels & lots of short story collections still unread) and Miss Marple novels (6 unread). Basically, I'm working my way through Christie's entire oeuvre! I try to coordinate my readings with Masterpiece Mystery and now this book club. It will be fun to revisit some of the books I've already read here and new ones, too!

I was thinking it might be fun to have an Ariadne Oliver festival or challenge - and read each of the works she appears in.

Greetings! So thrilled to find this group. From Michigan and I've been reading Christie since I was a child and still can't get enough. Think I've read most all but checking on a few I don't remember. So excited to read with a group and comment.

Poirot is hands down my favorite and unlike most people I've seen comment thus far, 'And Then There Where None' is my least favorite Christie book. Orient Express and The ABC Murders are my favorite Poirot and The Caribbean Mystery and Nemesis are my favorite Miss Marple. Big fan of the Tommy & Tuppence stories as well.

Can't wait to get reading!
