The first episode of the new series what did people think? It was a huge start to the series and I think it has improved from last year and everyone says it will be a lot darker..

I liked it, but there was one small reference bit that I think was a little off. It wasn't totally wrong but I think it was an assumption that was a bit out of place.

SPOILER:
OK so the TARDIS team is back in 1969 in Nixon's Oval Office and Amy feels sick and asks about toilets. The Secret Service guy takes her to the public ladies restroom. The lady that comes out of the stalls after Amy encounters the Silent there. The lady upon seeing the thing says "Is that a STAR TREK mask" (or maybe she said costume my memory is a little silenced) My little beef with that is OK it's 1969 and YES Star Trek originally ran from 1966-1969, BUT it wasn't until around the mid 1970s to around the early 1980s that Trek started getting into the public lexicon to make a woman who is probably a White House staffer(whom we will assume hasn't actually watched Star Trek but has been exposed to Trekies) think a weird looking thing was a Star Trek Alien. In 1969 she would probably still think little green Martians.

that might be true but it doesn't matter, what matters is how exciting and exhilarating this season is going to be. i cant wait to finally find out who river song is!!
I know this season will be so amazing i just know!!! Also there was a press release about one of the episodes and there may be another timelord out there!!1
dont u guys watch BBC america? its aired, im not going to spoil it for you but we kinda already know who the other time lord is!
Dee wrote: "dont u guys watch BBC america? its aired, im not going to spoil it for you but we kinda already know who the other time lord is!"AHHhh What!! that is so unfair!!! we only get the second episode of the season tonight!!!!!
OMG!!!! Just having watched the second episode i have so many questions and wild theorys!!! anyone else seen it?
Yep saw "Day Of The Moon" last week (episode 3 is tonight on BBCAmerica with a rerun of "Moon" just before)
I think some of these questions and theories may need spoiler warnings for those who haven't seen it yet.
There does seem to be some sort of implications that The Doctor "Danced" with Amy.

nope but one of my best friends said that amy has a time lord baby with the doctor!?!?!?!? i don't belive her...pah, the doctor and amy...and plus, there is another time lord alive...JENNY(well part time lordish thing!!!!)
MAybe I'm missing something here, but is there anything that said the baby was Amy's? It could be the Doctor and River's baby...

True it could be, but Amy freaked when she saw a picture of her holding a baby, presumably the girl in the astronaut suit.

I have a theory... The kid is Amy and Rory's, but it's River Song... *gasp* I know! I originally thought it was the Doctor's kid, but...IDK...
Ω Keznie the Oncoming Mormon Ω wrote: "I have a theory... The kid is Amy and Rory's, but it's River Song... *gasp* I know! My sister thinks that it is amys and rorys and i do too sort of but i think steven moffat will have it all complicatedly planned out cause he hardly ever does anything simply!
My friend and I were talkin' about it during class...I think it's a pretty good one, but, you never know. I really think it's River...
Yeah it would fit everything.. but she is a timelord and river isnt a time lord so it might not work...
But surely the doctor who be able to sense that she was.. you know him being "supposedly" the only one of them left.
I think thats a bit old I dont think that Moffat would bring that back.. but it could still be River and Moffat will think of some ingenious way to make it all work out!
Plus at the end of episode one it is amy who says she is pregnant not river so therefore it probably isn't river and the doctor
okay someone mentioned something about spoilers. If you put a spoiler warning first, could you please tell me who this other time lord is? I don't mind spoilers as long as they have spaces or spoiler alerts. I am so confused. And what did the Doctor see when he was looking at the test or whatever it was on the screen? Was it a pregnancy test saying that Amy was pregnant?
Kirk, back in message three you mentioned "... after Amy encounters the Silent there"
I thought I heard them talking about the silent but it wasn't clear to me. I thought maybe it was silence from the whole silence in the library thing. I just thought there is some connection between that silence and the crack in Amy's wall. I wish I could do closed caption but I can't with BBC programs.
Is there a site online that has really thorough summaries?
Karen B,
* At this time I don't think they have identified this other time lord.
* The screen the Doctor was looking at was some sort of current scan of Amy showing a pregnancy test. Whenever its been shown it is fluxuating between positive and negative. The reason so far seems to be unknown.
*The Silents in "The Impossible Astronaut" and the creatures in "The Scilence in the Library" are not the same thing. The library things were some shadow creatures called Vashta Nerada. The silence related to the cracks in Amy's wall I think was mostly the fact that the cracks were bringing about the ultimate silence of the universe being wiped out of existence.
For summaries: In general imdb.com is an excellent source for TV shows and movies, however, their summaries are not always the most thorough. Some can be very detailed and extremely helpful where others can be of no help whatsoever.
I think for Doctor Who the site "The TARDIS Index File" http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Doctor_W... is an excellent source that I found a while back, but recently have been remembering to refer to more frequently.

thank you. I forgot about IMDB and I was using it last night to find things about Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes. I added the other site to my bookmarks. Even though I don't fully trust wikipedia but they are getting better.
And I'm pretty sure Amy's daughter is River. That makes sense because River said that she killed a good man, as in the Doctor. Also, she didn't freak out as much as everyone else when he got killed, as if she already knew it was gonna happen. AND, River, Ponds, both bodies of water!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I misread it. I thought it said that rivers daughter is amy. I get it now!
Yeah :) I found this really cool t shirt that sorta has Doctor Who on it! But it also has Harry Potter, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, and BBC Sherlock! It says NERD at the top of it :D
http://www.redbubble.com/people/thege...
I want that t shirt! The same website has a bunch of Doctor WHo tees, also. I want one that has a picture of Rory and it says SAVE RORY. You know, since he dies in like every episode. And there's one with a bow tie in a glass case that says BREAK GLASS IN CASE OF DOCTOR. My third favorite is one that says T-shirts are cool. I wear a t-shirt now.
I really really hope that this River being the Girl in the astronaut suit theory is majorly wrong. It is a good theory but I don't like it one tiny bit. Now she still could be the person in the space suit that shoots the doctor, it doesn't have to be the little girl in the suit at the time.
For as long as I can remember them having the River character since she knows the Doctor's real name (or they strongly hint that is what she knows about him) She is at least a lover, more likely wife. A mother, sister or daughter would not play the temptress as much as River does.

From what I have heard, River's identity is revealed in ep7 'A Good Man Goes To War', remember River killed 'A Good Man'. We will just have to wait to find out who she is.
Has anyone found any hints, about Dr. River Song in the "Silence in the Library" episodes with David Tennant? I don't have it to go back and replay it right now.
I remember that he seemed surprised that she had a sonic screwdriver and then in the end tried to get her diary to find out his future. Also I think Alex Kingston is made up to be younger in various episodes. When she walks past Amy's and Rory's wedding in Season 5 and leaves the diary to help Amy remember she seems much much younger. Also with the David Tennant epis I don't remember her being a prisoner. So in her timeline it must have been before she killed "a good man"
