Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 101 comments I got a copy from the author to review when it came out. It's a good book. I have enjoyed both of her books. Need to get her third one.

message 5: by Carissa (new)

Carissa just started reading it, right now it's a little slow for me hopeful it will pick up. I loved her her other book Tailor made bride.

message 6: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) My copy arrived today! I decided to buy it as I have a few friends who may want to borrow it after me. I love the cover, so pretty :) As are the covers of all of her books.

I am going to be reading this one next. Looks like a great book.

message 11: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crystalmpope) | 29 comments So far so good I have read 36% of it. Sadly with so much going on I have not had the time to devote to reading, that this book deserves.

message 12: by Carissa (new)

Carissa I have finished it, it was aweswome. I liked Head in the Clouds better than Karen Witemeyer's first book Tailor Made Bride, but even tailor made bride was go. I am now looking forward to her third book.

message 16: by Karen (new)

Karen | 4 comments I love Karen Witemeyer's books. I picked up her first book, Tailor Made Bride bcause the cover was really cool, and was so gald I did because I fell in love with her style. Head in the Clouds was wonderful. I love how she comes up with characters and then puts them in unique enviroment. A British Noble in Texas I never would have thought of that but loved what it added to the story. Now I just have to wait impatiently for her 4th book to come out which may be awhile since her 3rd book was just released this month.

message 17: by Kim (new)

Kim (klny22) | 1 comments I also picked this book up because I just recently finished "Tailor Made Bride". I really enjoy her work because the characters are so well developed, and the character's faith wasn't something that they "preached" per say, but something that they lived.

message 18: by Laurie (new)

Laurie Armstrong I just finished this book today! I was so surprised that I enjoyed it so much....I could't put it down so I finished it in two days!

message 19: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I've just started this book today and I'm really enjoying it - Adelaide is such a wonderful character!

I agree! She is not annoying like some main characters. I didn't roll my eyes at her once.

message 21: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I'm nearly halfway through this book already and absolutely loving it! It's been a while since I read a historical romance that I truly loved, that stood out from the genre, but this one is looking like it's going to be one of my favourites :)

I agree its a fun book. I have had a run of so so historical fiction books since I read that one.

message 23: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 101 comments Hey, guys. I can message the author on another site and see if she can come and talk to us about the book. That is if she has the time. She's really nice and loves feedback about her books.

message 24: by Mindy (new)

Mindy (minuet33) I picked up the book tonight and finished it, it was amazing! I also thought it was cool that the author has a masters from a college that a lot of people whom I know went/go to!

message 25: by Karen (new)

Karen Witemeyer | 38 comments Thanks, Jennifer for the invite. How fun to see everyone enjoying Adelaide and Gideon's tale. This was such a fun story to write. I think of it as my Texas fairy tale.

If anyone has questions they'd like to ask, I'd be happy to answer.

And Mindy - how fun to connect through ACU! I still work at the university as the Testing Coordinator. Yep, in my day job I give tests for a living - ACT, CLEP, etc. Gotta keep that left side of the brain active, you know. :-)

message 26: by Mindy (new)

Mindy (minuet33) Wow! Hello! That's so cool that you still work there! I'm planning on going to Oklahoma Christian next year, you've probably heard of it if you went to ACU!
And it would be impossible not to enjoy your book! I couldn't put it down last night! I have to go read your other books now!

Karen, I must say that I loved it. I will definitely be reading more of your books. I hope you have another in the works?

I assume that you know a lot about horses based on your descriptions in the book. Not very many people know what distinguishes a good horse rider from a mediocre one.

message 33: by Karen (new)

Karen Witemeyer | 38 comments Hi, Laurie. I have to admit that I'm not much of a horse expert. I've ridden a couple times, but for the most part, what I know I've learned from research and reading other books. I'm glad the horse parts came across well. Sheba was one of my favorite secondary characters. I wept nearly as much as Adelaide when Petchey shot her down.

She has two other books if you haven't read them.
A Tailor-Made Bride (her first one she wrote) and then her newest one is To Win Her Heart that just came out about a month or two ago
