J-Lynn Van Pelt | 5 comments I taught middle and high school English and reading for 7 years and am currently teaching Literacy courses at the University of Nevada.

I am passionate about the need for quality multicultural literature in K-12 education. And believe it should be part of everyday experiences, not just read during special holidays or ethnic units.

Most of my own knowledge is in Black literature. But, I look forward to keeping each other up to date on the latest and greatest from the field at large.
