El (audinosbiitch) | 1999 comments You rise up on the circular metal plate. Take a moment to gaze around. The sky above you is an ugly orange, wait, purple, now blue, swirling and always changing it's color, the clouds always the opposite color.(Red's opposite is green, blue's is orange, and purple's is yellow.)
No sun, but you can tell the area around is lit as if by huge fluorescent lights. If you look around, and can see the forcefield, you can see it's glowing brightly.
There are 12, very different, circular areas in the arena, separated by heavily running water. The tributes are scattered in the 12 different areas of the Arena, each district in a pair, side by side or not.
Each area has it's own mini Cornucopia, and what isn't in your District's cornucopia you're gonna have to fight for...
~~~
District 1 tributes: You two are standing on opposite sides of your cornucopia, which is gleaming silver. You can see huge axes, tiny daggers, backpacks, and what looks like ONE tent. Your circle is a huge forest, evergreen trees mixed with deciduous. There is one hole straight through the cornucopia, and through it, you can see the other District 1 tribute...
~~~
District 2 tributes: You, lucky-luckies, are standing in a circular desert, with a cornucopia of dusty bronze right in front of you. You're standing side by side, so close that if you wanted you could reach out and hold hands. Now that'd be something sweet for Panem to see! The cornucopia holds water bottles, backpacks, the occasional dagger or sword or other weapon. You can just barely see the water separating you from a pebbly beach, a grassland, and a forest. It'll take about a day to reach the edge, and you both know that there's hardly enough water there for a day. Who knows if the separating water is poisoned or not?
~~~
District 3 tributes: You're the ones in the pebble circle. The occasional bush has managed to peek through the smooth, rounded stones. The green copper cornucopia looks old, like it's going to fall apart any minute. Inside you can see all sorts of weapons, but no sign of food or water. You're going to have to kill or join for that. If the others have any, that is. You couldn't possibly know! You glance over at your partner. Several yards separate you two tributes from 3...
~~~
District 4 tributes: You're stationed in what looks like a small town, complete with houses, big campfire in the middle, and a look-out tower. This last part, however, looks very old, and some of the supporting posts are definitely rotted. Your cornucopia is the houses and firepit, which does have some firewood, but no real kindling, or shelter if it rains. Who knows what is hidden in those houses: A bunch of food, a couple weapons, dangerous creatures...
~~~
District 5 tributes: You, my friends, are standing at opposite ends of a very large, open, grassy field. You cannot tell what your cornucopia is made of, it's too covered in climbing vines that writhe and squirm. Through those you can see hints of silver and cloth. The grass reaches your ankles in places, and is above your head in others, though, when you're looking at it from the start, it's all the same height...
~~~
District 6 tributes: One large circle of mountains and hills, snow-capped or otherwise. A tiny golden cornucopia sits right in the middle of them all, snuggled into foot-high snow. Backpacks, very warm looking fur coats, and a bunch of swords and throwing axes are piled high on the cornucopia, little indents marking the places where they'd fallen off. You stand three feet from the cornucopia, a sword lying right there, inches from your toes. But you know, right, that if you bend over, or move in any way, you'll go kaboom? I hope so, tributes from 6. Because the same might happen anywhere in the mountains...
~~~
District 7 tributes: Four small city blocks, you lucky ducks, is what you get fro a start-out. Complete with one skyscraper, a cafe with a sign that says 'Closed', and street lamps too! In the intersection of all four roads sits a solid concrete cornucopia, piled up with food and weapons. In fact, that's all you can see there. Which means if you want water, you're gonna have to leave this setup and get to the main water source.
~~~
District 8 tributes: A huge jungle. The cornucopia sits in the middle, but you can't see it. You can't see anything but the trees, and dangling branches and vines. The air is heavy with moisture, and after about 30 seconds of waiting, you're finding it a little bit more difficult than usual to breathe. You have no idea which way your facing, where the other District 8 tribute is, or what is awaiting you at the Cornucopia...
~~~
District 9 tributes: You rise up into a giant cave, a huge, rough-rock cornucopia sits on a platform, several feet above lava. The only way to get there are thin, arching pathways, two of them. There are two exits, right behind each of you. Through that you can see a sandy beach and heavy-current water. The heat is getting to you after only a few seconds in there, and after about 30 seconds, sweat begins to break out on your forehead and arms. Better get out fast, or roast alive in this hole...
~~~
District 10 tributes: You're in a huge garden. Roses, daisies, lilies, daffodils, every kind of flower you can think of, lined in an orderly fashion all over your little circle, though not necessarily in straight lines. A foot-thick circle of red, white, and yellow roses surround a yellow cornucopia. You can't see anything that's inside, except for the brown hilt of a sword that's sticking up above the top...
~~~
District 11 tributes: Orchards. What you know best, right? Well, sure, there are fruit trees and such, but there are other things there, disguised as the trees you thought you knew so well. A tiny, tiny, shining golden cornucopia lies right in front of you both, right in the center of the circle. Swords, bows, arrows, daggers, and other weapons are inside, or lying haphazardly around it. There is, however, no sign of food, except for those rosy red apples and juicy-looking peaches...
~~~
District 12 tributes: Your area is simple. A wall of rock encases you, and, unless you really feel like climbing 50 feet into the air on super-steep walls, you're gonna have to use the stairs, which, you should know, are guarded by extremely fierce creatures. A cornucopia the color of coal sits right in the center, and you two stand on opposite sides of the circle. Whenever a gust of wind comes in huge clouds of thick dust rise into the air and settle again.

THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THIS ARENA:
1. The water IS CROSSABLE. Some areas are deeper than you may expect, so don't always have your tribute move through easily.
2. For Tributes from 6: THERE ARE MINES! Acknowledge that, but remember your tributes don't know.
3. In case you were wondering, the Gamemakers have ultimate control over how high/low things are, so one day you think you're on the tallest spot in your entire place, the next you're in a huge basin.
4. NOT ALL OF THE CORNUCOPIA'S HAVE FOOD! You WILL have to visit other areas!
EDIT:5. The water is drinkable in most areas, but not all.

As Christian rose up on her plate she looked around for the Cornucopia. She spotted it and scanned for other tributes. It looked as if it were just her and Rory on this little island of flowers. 'Allies?' she mouthed to him. He nodded. She looked down and grimaced in disgust at the "wonderland" of color which could be the place of her death. The gong rang and Christian and Rory walked to the Cornucopia together as allies.

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten | 4557 comments ((I had to check twice to remember which district my charries were from.... lol.))
From the district one island, Sterling looked over at his district partner; a light smile on his face as he took off running at top speed towards the Cornucopia. The brown and green of the trees seeming to blur on the edge of his vision as he ran-struggling not to stumble on the uneven ground-towards the cornucopia.

Pike, from two, looked over at his district partner. "Hey, want to ally?" He asked as he walked towards their cornucopia. "I'll take you straight to the end of this arena. Promise."
He looked over at her, smiling. His hair getting in his face as he squinted through the light at her.

Over on the district eleven island, Lucas looked around in surprise. This arena was better then he thought! He knew the Gamemaker must have something up their sleeves, but he didn't care at the moment.
Steadying his nerves, he headed to the cornucopia.

drew (drewbeck) Penelopie raced past Lucas, smiling. She pulled bows and arrows, daggers, and some of each delicious looking fruit. She knew they were too good to be true. Penelopie needed a plan. Grab weapons fast, and "fruit". Meet up with her District 10 allies and Rune.

Briaq (briaq) | 1251 comments Dern walked up to the Cornucopia, watching his district partner out of the corner of his eye. He grabbed a pack, and went through it. A small dagger, one small pack of five crackers, cloth, rope, and leather. Not very useful, but it looked like the best thing there was.
He turned to the walls around him. He spotted a shadow moving, and heard a low growling. The rope was barely three feet long...he'd have to take the stairs.

message 14: by drew (new)

drew (drewbeck) Penelopie went digging farther into the Cornucopia. A backpack! It looked like the only one. She put down 2 of her 5 daggers and opened the pack. A blanket, a tent and a flashlight. She put the blanket, tent, flashlight, "fruit", bow&arrows and 3 daggers in her pack. She smiled. This would be easier than she expected.

((yup!))

Lucas reached the cornucopia, and smiled over a Penelopie. "Hi! Anything good? This arena is pretty cool, isn't it!"

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Rory and Christian approached the Cornucopia making sure to crush as many flowers as they could as they walked. The could see the brown hilt of a sword sticking out from the Cornucopia. 'I hope that's not the only thing' Rory thought. It wasn't but the only other thing in the Cornucopia was a soft pink backpack with a multicolored flower pattern on it. Inside Christian found a small dagger, some crackers and a flower print waterbottle that was half full. Christian knelt down in a square of daffodils and began to camouflage the childish backpack and waterbottle in mud while Rory examined the weapons. When Christian was done she stood up and he handed her the dagger. Before she could protest and ask for the sword he put his hand over her mouth. "We're taking turns," he said slowly and fastened the sword onto his belt.

Penelopie nodded. "The best thing is the pack. I see one, here!" she pulled out a bright orange pack--which looked blue.

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten | 4557 comments "Nice!" Lucas smiled. "I'm Lucas. You can call me Lucky." He held his hand out. "What do you say we don't kill eachother? It's such a waste to have us all kill eachother, don't you think?"

message 21: by drew (new)

drew (drewbeck) "Hi, Lucas. I am Penelopie. And sure, that sounds like a great idea. I had found a pack too. Mine had a tent, blanket and flashlight. What does yours have?" she asked. "I wonder what they are preparing us for."

Rune gasped for breath. She prefered drinking her water to breathing it. ((Did you get this island's setup from when I was talking about life down here in Florida?)) She absolutely had to find Penelopie. She heard a rustle coming from the dense forest. It reminded her of a description of what was once known as "Florida". ((The forest, not the sound.)) "Who's there?" she called.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Rory and Christian took twenty minutes for strategizing. They knew what they needed--allies. They already had one, Penelopie, the girl from Eleven. "Let's just go already!! Eleven's island is right there! I can see Penelopie!" Christian repeated for about the fourth time.
"I've already told you Christian. We can't go yet. The guy from Eleven is there too." Rory said simply.
"He's talking to her! Besides, he didn't look so deadly as a leprechaun in the chariot ceremony!!!!" Christian argued.
"Fine!" Rory snapped and got up to walk to the edge of the island where the water was the most shallow.

Autumn-Rain (arsymphony) | 208 comments ((k thanks. isn't she our ally? or do i need to face palm? and do people from the ne say that too?))
a beast rune knew as a panther shrieked and pounced for rune. it was just behind her as she jumped from tree to tree. "Dammit!" she cried over her labored breathing. it was almost upon her. "PENELOPIE!!!!! HELP!!!!"

message 26: by drew (new)

drew (drewbeck) ((I don't think so. . . dunno))

Penelopie stopped mid-motion. "Rune?" she called, racing to District 8. "Rune, was that you? Ru-?" she gasped. She started to pant. This was hard to breathe in. "Rune?" she barely whispered. "Come to 11's. It is easier." She said between gasps.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Christian just about squealed with joy when she saw Penelopie motion for them to cross but Rory turned around and his eyes shot daggers. She quieted herself and watched Rory slide his foot into the water. He winced and pulled it back. It was freezing! He tried again this time quicker as he waded knee-deep into the frigid water. When he made it across he stood at the bottom of the side of the island. Christian followed with four delicate silent hops and she was on the other side. The two began the climb onto the actual island. Christian and Rory trusted Penelopie but since the small hill blocked their sight they drew their weapons.

Briaq (briaq) | 1251 comments Dern slipped silently over to the rocky stairs. The monster had its back turned. Dern rushed up the steps.
Too late. The monster caught his scent and turned around. Dern ran, but not before the monster had clawed his leg.
Dern pulled out his dagger and stabbed the monster in the eye. Then he continued up the steps, his leg bleeding.

message 29: by Autumn-Rain (new)

Autumn-Rain (arsymphony) | 208 comments Rune was at the edge of the forest where a rocky cliff was close to the border. she saw penelopie. she knew she was a healer, so she yelled "penelopie!" and thinking the panther wouldn't follow her, jumped. "penelopie!"

she smelled blood.

((dont worry she's not dead i promise!))

message 30: by Briaq (new)

Briaq (briaq) | 1251 comments Dern reached the top of the steps. He examined his leg closely; there was a deep cut behind his knee. He took out the piece of cloth from his bag and tied it around the wound. It wasn't much, and the blood soaked through almost immediatly, but at least it was something.
He heard the monster behind him and continued to run.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

"Penelopie." Rory hissed/whispered. Him and Christian were not in plain sight but could be seen by whoever was on the District 11 island if the looked down that side of the island.

message 32: by drew (new)

drew (drewbeck) Penelopie saw Rune. "Ohmigosh! are you okay?" she asked. Penelopie grabbed Rune on her back and slowly but surely came back to 11's. She waved to Rory and Christian,

Briaq (briaq) | 1251 comments Dern came to the water. He didn't like swimming, but he had done it a few times. As he was deciding what to do, he heard the monster coming behind him. That made this decision easy.
He leaped into the water, hoping the monster couldn't follow.

message 35: by drew (new)

drew (drewbeck) Penelopie searched after she put Rune down. "Umm. . . " seh said, pawing at the stuff, "We have some plants that might work as First Aid, and a cloth to use as like, gauze. What did you mean by first aid? Oh, and Rune, this is Christian," she motioned to the female coming from 10, "This s Rory," she motined to the male coming from 10, "And, this is my other ally, my District fellow. Lucas," she said pointing to the boy at the cornucopia.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

"Okay, Christian. We're going up there. If you do anything stupid, you're dead and believe me I won't be the one killing you." Rory warned.
"Just go." she said pushing him. They reached the top of the hill and saw Penelopie and the girl from 8 looking breathless.

message 37: by drew (new)

drew (drewbeck) Penelopie smiled and waved. "Hi Christian! Hi Rory! This is Rune! And that's Lucas, they are my other allies," she said when they got closer.
