Court Ellyn Hi, Michelle! So what will this Q&A be focusing on? Books? Writing? Ourselves?

You can discuss all three. Many people ask me about writing romance and fantasy, so I just thought I'd create a space for their questions instead of putting it on the official series website. However, feel free to discuss whatever you like :D

Heather | 1 comments Hey Michelle! Thanks for the invite. Glad I checked my Yahoo mail, I don't do that very often. I have some questions. What made you decide to write online? Weren't you afraid someone would take your ideas change them a little and get them published? And how does it feel to get published??

Heather

1) I started the series just to get back into the swing of writing. At the time, I hadn't written in 6 months and I wanted to see what others thought of my style. When the reaction was positive enough and I had 4 books written, I began thinking about publishing.

2) No, I was never worried. I never put whole books on the website, just short stories. I doubt anyone is going to get very much from that.

3) Getting published actually feels more like a relief for me. I had twenty-one books that needed a home. Now they have one :D

It's the third book published; it still feels wonderful but I get more excited when people read and review the books. :D

The process is simple, but it requires a lot of courage and patience. Here is an article I wrote concerning how to be a prolific writer: http://charlotteenglish.wordpress.com...

As for selling ebooks, it's all about promotion and publicity. I have giveaways, .99 cent book days, blog with all the stories for free, etc. just to gain readership. Once people like what they read, they will want more, but it takes time. It takes about 4-6 months of gaining reviews and followers to begin selling books. The most important thing, however, is to first have books to sell :D
