I think he has the hardest personality to decode. Idk if that comes with being the main character or if it's just him.
"I'm the chosen one." "I'm not going to let anyone die, not for me"
"I got to go to," He is also Mr. I-lose-my-temper-fast
"I got to go to," He is also Mr. I-lose-my-temper-fast
I don't see how that's creepy. He is hot headed sometimes, but given his situation - I've gone on about this before :) - he handles hmself better than most teenagers would, I think. About the movie lines; the first is out of character for book Harry (assuming we're talking about the line from the library scene in HBP, not from the "After the Burial" scene in the book) and the second just shows his selflessness and determination, I think. I'm still not sure how either could be regarded as disturbing.

I agree. I mean imagine this:
You have to defeat the most feared wizard i n the world. YOu have to find 5 horcruxes with no idea where they are. YOu have to avoid pretty much all of civilization. You have to win quidditch matches, and get good grades. You have to put up with horrible people andknow that your in risk of dying a slow and painful death everyday. You are the most hated wizard in the school because you supposedly ilegally put your name in the triwizard cup. All this as a teen who's growing up figuring himself out. It's not the typical teenager life but Harry puts up with it but loses his temper a few times. What do you think?
It's a typical reaction to die for your family. If someone asked you, who would you rather kill, yourself or yourf riends, what would you say? Your friends? and live with the guilt? Sure you would. (sarcasm) Si what Harry says is pretty typical. What would you do? Stay home relaxing and enjoying knowng that because you didn't go on your journey to find the horcruxes you let the wizard world fall into a dark deep time? Would you let all those people die without even trying? Hary pretty much did what any normal teenager would do.
He's not my favorite character though, he somewhat still feels vague to me.

Hary pretty much did what any normal teenager would do.I don't know. In some ways, I think you're right, which is why Harry is such an easy character to relate to. But, there is a reason why he's hero, in my opinion. He has the incredible strength to persist in a grueling journey and walk to his death. In Dumbledore's office in DH he reflects on how easy it would have been to die by flinging himself in front of a loved one - but consciously walking to his death is something completely different. The enormous selflessness and determination that he shows sets him apart from others. There's also his courage and willingness to speak out (which are admirable I think, though some people would probably attribute them to a lack of prudence). I just don't think that saving Malfoy in the Room of Requirement can be considered a "normal" act for a teenager. Even Ron thinks it's crazy! I know most people would not be willing to allow their friends/family to be harmed, but I think the amount of personal responsibility Harry takes upon himself shows that he’s different from the “average” teen.

lol. I usually do, because those are the only people who will understand if you take it out on them. :)
Harry has anger problems...i dont really like him. DOBBY FTW!!!
Arti wrote: "Well I stil htink that stupid of him"I’m not saying that he’s right to act that way, but on the occasions he’s venting his frustration, he just snaps at them, and either apologizes, or at least cools down. I don’t know about you, but I see friends/family snap at each other all the time when they’re frustrated. And as Hannah said, these are the people who understand.
Harry really loses his temper with Ron and Hermione at first in OotP (at Grimmauld Place) because he feels so resentful about not getting information - information that he’s sure that they’ve gotten, as they’ve both been together while he’s been stuck at Privet Drive. Furthermore, Harry feels as though they’ve specifically denied him this information. Of course Dumbledore made them swear not to reveal anything, so Ron and Hermione hardly can be blamed for the fact that Harry’s been kept in the dark, but Harry, fifteen year-old that he is, doesn’t think about this before he starts yelling, and once he starts he can’t stop. Obviously, this isn’t the most mature reaction, but I don’t see how anyone could consider it unnatural. No one likes to be kept in the dark. He also feels hurt, like most people would, that his friends have been together without him. Harry was the one who just saw Voldemort come back. Harry’s the one Voldemort is after. How could he tolerate not knowing anything? Ron and Hermione predicted what his reaction would be.
The other time Harry becomes furious with them is when Hermione proposes the D.A. At this time it really is Hermione (with Ron) who is antagonizing him, unintentionally. Nothing is more galling for him than someone assuming he has powers that he doesn’t feel that he has. His humility actually comes in here; he doesn’t want to accept undeserved praise. He’s desperate for them to understand that he has only done so much because of his ability to react quickly, not because he’s a brilliant wizard. Harry only gets angry because Ron and Hermione don’t seem to understand. And once he starts yelling, they do get it – they get a sense of what the “real world” is like. Hermione even finds his words worth memorizing. Yelling might not have been the only way to convey Harry’s thoughts, but it really gets his point across.
I’ve heard several people say that although they would have felt/acted the same way in Harry’s situation, OotP is still their least favorite book because they expected more from the hero of the story. I guess I can kind of understand this, though I especially like OotP because we do get to see Harry’s natural feeling of frustration. I still don’t understand, though, why anyone would call Harry’s behavior unnatural, or say that he has anger management problems. It just doesn’t make sense that a person could be expected to act the same as usual when not only going through the normal process of growing up, but also when being shunned and disbelieved by some and further mistreated by others.

No, but they know he'll be mad because they understand how he feels. With the DA, it's not their fault that Harry gets mad - but they do inadvertently make him mad, by acting as though he's trying to be modest, when he really feels that a lot of his "victories" can't be attributed to real skill at DADA. I never said that Ron and Hermione deserved being yelled at. I was only trying to say that Harry isn't some angry fool who continually has inexplicable outbursts.

Ok. Nice to know it was good. You seem to know a lot about HP, Pandy. Unlike SOME people...(none of them are here) that think they know everything but don't and...yeah. You all know people like that, right?

Ugh i hate when people do that! (Hypocrite! I kinda did that with Twilight, but i heard an excerpt and hated it!)
*shakes head* If there's anything I can't stand it's a hypocrite. Those people should all be loaded onto a boat and taken to a deserted island so they can falsely promise each other all they want while the good people live their lives happily.
Random, I know. Sorry.
