Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11217 comments 25.4 - Jenn Renee's task: Color Me Happy......
Color is beautiful, fun, and inspiring. Let's celebrate color!
Roll 1 die 1 time to find your color:
1. Red (Pink, Scarlet, Crimson, Ruby, Maroon, Poppy)
2. Orange (Tangerine, Peach, Apricot, Pumpkin, Carrot, Coral,)
3. Yellow (Gold, Lemon, Amber, Saffron, Chiffon, Buttercup)
4. Green (Olive, Fern, Forest, Pine, Hunter, Jade)
5. Blue (Azure, Denim, Sky, Cyan, Cobalt, Indigo, Sapphire)
6. Purple (Plum, Iris, Violet, Orchid, Lilac, Mauve, Periwinkle)

Choose 2 different options for this task and read one book for each option:
1. Read a book with a cover that is primarily the color you rolled. Required: If you choose this option, you must include the cover or a link to the book in your post.
2. Read a book with the color you rolled in the title. The shades listed in parentheses will work, too. Plurals of will be accepted, but compound words will not work.
3. Read a book with the color you rolled in the author's first or last name. The shades listed in parentheses will work, too. As long as the color is contained within the name in its entirety, it will be accepted. (EX: Greenfeld would work for green. Goldman would work for yellow.)
4. Read a book in which the main character's name is the same as the color you rolled. The shades listed in parentheses will work, too.
5. Read a book in the Genre represented by the color you rolled.
Red for Love - Romance
Orange for Caution- Suspense/Thriller
Yellow for Happy- Humorous or Inspirational
Green for Lively - Action/Adventure
Blue for Mysterious- Mystery
Purple for Magical- Fantasy/Paranormal

Required: State which options you chose when you post.

Looks like to me most would work.
Northanger Abby and The Blood of Flowers look more red on my monitor but if they look more purple on yours then just state that when you post. Parades end looks like it has a lot more brown than purple so that is the only one I would say wouldn't work.

Some books appear on two lists. Tourist Season by Carl Hiaasen appears on both the pink and purple lists. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon appears on the red and orange lists. So you might want to make sure they work for your color with the task manager first.

These lists could help with task 10.9 too.

Now, I wish I was playing Yahtzee. Every time I have rolled dice in this challenge, I've gotten the number 5!

you can use two of these books for the challenge. You can use one for color in the title and one for the color in the authors name. good choices!

Only the shades listed work for options 2-4 for option 1 it just needs to be a green book cover.

Petra Okay. I was hoping to use Holly as an author's name but I'll find another slot for the book.
Thanks.

Janet Berkman (jannie_b) Is this okay for purple? While it's mainly black and white, the purple certainly stands out against it.

The Purple does stand out but I don't think its enough purple for a purple cover.

Hettie | 130 comments Question on option 5.

I rolled a 3 and got yellow and so the genre was Happy- Humorous or Inspirational.

Is this books I find personally humorous or inspirational or does it needed to be listed in the genre on the books homepage on goodreads?

I read pretty much young adult so these are some of the ones I would pick as action adventure. Although anything that has action or adventure will work.

Vampirates Demons of the Ocean (Vampirates, #1) by Justin Somper Among the Hidden (Shadow Children, #1) by Margaret Peterson Haddix Stormbreaker (Alex Rider, #1) by Anthony Horowitz
The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, #1) by James Patterson

if action or adventure is listed on the side its a good choice.
