Help the tbr pile month - so anyone with a large tbr pile can get one off their list - as long as they post a review.
I like Ice's idea. Everyone chooses a book from their TBR pile, reads it and tells the rest of us whether it's worth reading. The only problem with this is that we might all read one of our TBRs and then end up with a load more we want to read because everyone else's sounded so good.
i havent decided yet. i will try to review one in july. i read books quite fast to be quite honest (may have to increase my reading challenge at this rate hehe)
I can't decide! It'll be whatever looks good on July 1st I suspect, although Sugarcoated has been looking good for the last day or so. If I've done this right, here's the cover for those who prefer to see the covers
I finally settled on The Binding Chair or, A Visit from the Foot Emancipation Society. Although my copy is just called "The Binding Chair". I can't find my edition on Goodreads. Oddly, now I've found this alternative title, it's put me off the book slightly, but I'm going to carry on with it.
I've just finished
by Patrick McCabe. I'll be posting a review when I've thought about it - a good book, well worth reading if you want something a bit different. 4 stars, I think.
I nearly bought a copy of Anno Dracula yesterday. I was being unusually self disciplined, so I resisted. However, due to trip to London for work, I had an extra 3 hours reading time (on the train), so I've finished The Binding Chair or, A Visit from the Foot Emancipation Society. It was OK but no more than that. The author was trying to explore women's restricted lives in the early 20th century, but was a bit heavy-handed. If you've already got a copy, it's worth trying, but I wouldn't recommend that anyone gets it.
I finished The Jefferson Keythis week. This a series with Cotton Malone, a retired special agent as the main character. Cotton still manages to get involved world ending situation. This #7 in the series and it has secret codes, pirates and corrupt politicians. All of which takes place USA. I liked it.
