I bought The Heir from Nowhere (Harlequin Presents) by Trish Morey , Taming the Last St. Claire by Carole Mortimer , Dangerous in Diamonds (The Rarest Blooms, #4) by Madeline Hunter , and More than a Mistress/No Man's Mistress by Mary Balogh at my local Walmart

@Kelsey, I was planning on buying City of Bones, but I bought an expensive game. I also saw that Love by Numbers book there.

I'll be buying more though. You should see my Amazon cart XD

Now that you mention it, I need to get my youngest cat fixed. He keeps marking his territory everywhere and let me tell you. He stinks up the place XD, but I love him, even if the feeling isn't mutual.

Why are you hurting though?

message 12: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 411 comments i have had recent surgery on my left arm and arthritis in my back. did A LOT of running around today.

your cat loves you. remember to clean up after him until you have him fixed. don't want to get in trouble by landlords. it's how I got evicted the first time. eeessshhh!

message 13: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 411 comments I use Pinesol on tile then rinse it good with water. cleaners are toxic to pets!

message 14: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (elliearcher) Definitely get him fixed as soon as possible: otherwise he'll keep a lot of the symptoms of being in heat otherwise.

I promised myself I would not buy any books in June: I have to save some money.

So I got Flowers for Alys by Irene M. Redpath and a soon-to-be released 1,000 Steampunk Creations Neo-Victorian Fashion, Gear, and Art (1000 Series) by Grymm which looks super-cool and fun!

My daughter's going to kill me.

No, seriously! *grin*

Reese Copeland (nonfreak) | 46 comments Just bought "This is gonna hurt" the newest book by Nikki Sixx of Sixx AM (and Motley Crue) fame. This was a follow up to his book "the Heroin Diaries" in which he details his battle with heroin addiction into recovery, which was also sold with the CD of the same name.

I've been waiting for that steampunk book to come out!

Joanna, there was a guy on etsy or ebay who was doing custom mods -- expensive, but they were gorgeous! I am a big big fan of that aesthetic as well -- have you seen the BookBook covers from TwelveSouth? (Just google TwelveSouth.) They're beautiful laptop cases that look just like old leather books. I got one for my ipad, and I love it. Actually, I liked it so much I bought one for my husband's macbook, too, LOL. Not the same as a mod, but a nice budget alternative!

Lea, the covers look pretty cool, but I'm thinking about a mod. Not for the laptop I've now, but when I upgrade I might spend some more to make it truly AWESOME! :)

message 25: by Thom (new)

Thom Swennes (Yorrick) | 592 comments Today I faced the living daytime nightmare of many men. My wife announced that WE were going shopping. Don’t misunderstand me, I enjoy going out with her but when she enters a department or clothing store, I cease to exist. Her eyes widen and her pupils dilate to accommodate all around her and I disappear. The first store I wait patiently as she browses the different clothing racks, drinking everything in with her eyes. We exit the store forty-five minutes later without even a bag for our time and troubles and she immediately enters the next store to repeat the process.
One is my limit. I pride myself on my patience but a clothes shopping with a woman is beyond endurance. After repeated attempts to break her singly focused concentration I finally receive a positive response and suggest we go our separate ways and meet later at a specified place and time. Being an unnoticed anchor in her day’s quest, she readily agrees. At last! I’m cut loose and I can browse and pursue my interests. I promptly radar in on a book market and time flies. I bought
McNally's Risk (Archy McNally Novels) by Lawrence Sanders , Giants in the Earth A Saga of the Prairie by Ole Edvart Rølvaag , The wreck of the 'Mary Deare' by Hammond Innes , Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man by Tim Allen , The Ninth Man (Collier Spymasters Series) by John Lee , An Episode Of Sparrows by Rumer Godden , Don't Say a Word by Andrew Klavan , Mistress by Amanda Quick , Storm Warning by Jack Higgins , The devil's alternative by Frederick Forsyth , Fall Back by Peter Niesewand , Uhuru by Robert Ruark , Furie by John Farris , Night of the Fox by Jack Higgins
I bought all of the above for under 10 Euros, easing the pain I was greeted with when I met up again with my wife.

I have that same problem! Every time I see envelopes or stationary I feel the urge to buy, buy and buy. When I come home my wife puts in with the other boxes of office supplies I always seem to buy but seldom use. I guess that is just one of those things that make me, me.

message 32: by Joanna (new)

Joanna Thom wrote: "Today I faced the living daytime nightmare of many men. My wife announced that WE were going shopping. Don’t misunderstand me, I enjoy going out with her but when she enters a department or clothin..."

LOL Thom!! :) I feel your pain. I'm a woman but atypical in that I can't really stand much clothes shopping. I mean, if I need something, I'll go an get it but I kind of go blind/insane after about 2 shops (and there are sooooo many shops in any shopping centre!!). So whenever my sister, or one of my girlfriends drags me out shopping I promptly perform a vanishing act and disappear into the nearest bookshop, usually buying half of it just to recover from the shock ;P

I do this exactly. I always figure I'll find a use for them, but most of the stuff goes unused. I can't help it XD

Whenever I go shopping for clothes or anything really. I do it like really fast, while my mother takes forever. She loves to look around and troll for sales!

Mary (madamefifi) Her name is Lucy. I've always liked the line from Villette, "I, Lucy Snowe, was calm", and it seems to fit her personality.
