Thoughts on Corrinne...

OKAY, before you read this I KNOW everyone is going to DISAGREE and yell at me and everything, but I'll just say it. I know how everyone hates Corrinne and they think shes a totally snob and everything; but I kind of get where she's coming from.(I mean she is rude and what not, I'll give you that) I mean her parents are barely there for her, she was basically raised by the city of Manhattan and a credit card.(If that makes any sense to you.) I just started this book and I just wanted to get some other opinions...

---Feel free to reply, and it's cool if you disagree because I feel like everyone will---

Once Corrine began to change I definitely had no more problems with her.

I thought she was a complete brat. She never did grow on me very much. Well, maybe a little when she fought with her friend for being such a snob.
I get why she is that way - I know people who are that way. But I think she never really develops much as a person. At best, she tolerates things until she can get back to her pampered little penthouse life.
I mean, her parents tell her they're basically broke and what does she do? Goes out and racks up more debt for them. I know they weren't great either, but I think she was way overdramatic and not really that great of a person. She treats everyone like garbage and somehow winds up as the heroine that everyone loves.

I don't necessarily hate her. I just don't particularly like her. I don't have alot of patience for the spoiled little princess type.
Maybe I'd like her better with a little more character development, idk.

nine I couldn't agree more with you. I was sorta okay with her by the end of the book but i wouldn't say she would be on my top favorite book characters. ...more

Love reading these thoughts.

When I wrote the story, I didn't care if Corrinne was likeable or not. I just wanted her to be true to herself and to grow.

And I've been thrilled to see how passionately people have reacted to her---on both sides of the fence. I'm glad she's memorable.

In 2012, watch out for Kitsy's story A LONG WAY FROM YOU

I already read this book.. I didn't hate Corrine instead i understand her..what I don't like in the part of this book was Corinne's romance..its kinda quickly and doesn't have much of romantic moments with her love interest..
