If you write poems,
you must post them here because
if you don't, your sad!

It was pretty good

Torture

I was so obsessed
My parents made a rule
I was limited to 3 hours
It really made me drool

I could only come on 3 hours
3 hours a day
It was torture
But luckily, we don't keep rules

Torture. That terrible word
It completely explains my crisis
Wouldn't you agree?
Totally awful life. Almost no GR.

It's a terrible life I lead
It seems all the trouble happens
Exactly at the same time
So, what should I do?

Surprise

Once a girl named Samino read a poem
It didn't really rhyme
She was so proud of her friend
She decides to help her
She would take her under her wing
and teach her the ways of the poem
So one day
Emily could be an award winning poet like herself.

A ton of Bricks

Once there was this kid
He was walking home with Rick
He saw this wall
It was made of bricks

He said, "I'm going to count those bricks!"
So he counted them one by one.
Till three days later,
he finally finished.
All in all, there were 2,000 bricks

"Woah! That's a ton of bricks!"
he said to himself.
He started to walk home,
but the wall fell
and hit him like a ton of bricks.

Carolyn (bookspirit99) | 20 comments Emily loves tea,
So much that she
Spent all her money
Only on the finest tea
From China!

She found out
The hard way
That tea leaves don't last
From China to America.
When she bought several tons
Of tea from China
And it arrived fuzzy and gray,
She screamed aloud
In frustration
And dumped it into the
Boston Harbor

Later she regretted
Her actions
Because now she could get
No refund for the ruined tea.
She cried all night and day
And lost millions of dollars
Because of that blasted tea.

From then on,
She drank no more tea.
She soon forgot about
The ruined tea,
But she never drank tea
Again.

Firestormkittycat | 9 comments Long distance

We said goodbye but yesterday
And already I feel a hole
You're not here, you're gone
Off to a land far beyond
Anyplace, anywhere I may go

Two weeks have passed
I miss your face
I hear your voice all the time
And I would give up my last dime
To feel your warm embrace

Already a whole month has flown
As always, we're constantly texting
I miss you less intensely now
So long as we're talking; don't care what about
I can ignore the miles between us, stretching

One month has lengthened into six
Lengthy conversations no longer occur
We chat less often; how was your day?
Who did you see, what did they say?
Did I tell you about our new front desk clerk?

It's been how long? A whole year?
I consider you just an acquaintance
You seem distant and strange
We're not besties like in the old days
Neither of us is quite the same
The damaging effects of long distance
