It was a very slow reading weekend for me. I'm still reading Hounded by Kevin Hearne but once I'm done with this one, I'll be starting on Andrea Cremer's Wolfsbane then Hearne's book two in his Iron Druid series, Hexed.

I'm slow this week, too, Okie. Wonder if it's the summer doldrums. I'm lingering over Silk Is for Seduction. Loving it, but just not able to concentrate to read it for long periods of time.

I know what both of you are talking about! I feel like I am draging my feet *sigh*. Reading the 3rd Harry Potter, a medieval romance that I had lying arrownd "The Lion's Bride" by Connie Masson and the 5th book in the Bodyguard series by Cindy Gerard

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments I finally got around to starting Madeline Hunter's Dangerous in Diamonds, which should be titled Beware of Dukes Bearing Diamonds. I'm about 40 percent through. Castleford is amazingly clever when he bothers to be sober, but he is more witty when he is drunk. I'm not sure he deserves the heroine, though.

def the summer doldrums, Manda. I hate to say this but I only got 3 pages worth of reading done on my current read today o.O

Irisheyes | 896 comments I am half way through A LADY'S LESSON IN SCANDAL by Meredith Duran. I'm liking it but so much is going on in RL this week I'm having a hard time concentrating. Maybe there is something in the air. LOL

No reading doldrums for me. I'm so thrilled to have met my deadline and have reading time again that I've been in a reading frenzy today. I finished Christie Ridgway's Can't Hurry Love (loved it, think this series is her best) and read Tracy Anne Warren's The Bed and the Bachelor (hate the title but liked the book), and Lavinia Kent's "Linette the Lioness"(interesting, one A+ scene, but mixed response). I started Second Chance at the Sugar Shack (contemporary by a new author, enjoying it).

I am reading 5 books at once--I was planning to read the amorous education of Celia Seaton and I loved the beginning, but I also started to look up something in Slightly Married and am in the middle of a reread. And I'm periodically reading Claire Tomalin's biography of Jane Austen, Joy for Beginners by Erica Bauermeister, and a book on building yr home. When I finish a few of those I plan to turn to The Bride Wore Scarlet, Cat's Tale by Bettie Sharpe, and if I can get it the new novella by meljean brook!
Am I the only person who reads several books at once?Does anyone else in this group?

I started reading Candace Camp's Affair Without End, then jumped to Madeline Hunter's Dangerous in Diamonds, with detours into The Bride Wore Scarlet, Confessions of an Improper Bride, Wicked in Your Arms, and Amorous Education of Celia Seaton. Phew! I have decided to just finish Dangerous in Diamonds today and tomorrow.

Wow, Janga! You've been a busy little bee :)

I've tried, Dls, and I can't handle more than 2 at a time.

Starting on Razor Girl by Marianne Mancusi.

DeeDee (deedee97) | 27 comments Finished reading "Hard Bitten: A Chicagoland Vampires Novel"..talk about a shock ending!! Then re-read, for the umpteenth time "Prisoner of My Desire" by Johanna Lindsey. Can't wait to start the August bookclub read (I'm trying not to start before the 1st, lol) so I am going to read a bit of non fiction, Lucy Worsley's Courtiers: The secret History of Kensington Palace. :)

Oh, Donna, I'd love to know what you think of that non fiction book.
I finished Slightly Married and the Amorous Education of Celia Seaton. I'm now reading The Bride Wore Scarlet by Liz Carlyle. I have already read our August book read, which I loved. But I have I think six books pre-ordered on my Nook for August 1 or 2 (the new Sarah Mayberry, Karina Bliss, Victoria Dahl, Jodi Thomas, Jennifer Ashley, and Thea Harrison). That's got to be one of the things I love most about it--that I get books the day they are released, without having to go to the book store or wait if they are not in stock yet. For people like me who don't get ARC, that's wonderful.

I will let you know :)
I read all my books on my Kindle now..the best present I have ever had...ever, lol. I love it for the same reason you do, no waiting around to read what you want to read. And sorry to be dim, but what is ARC? x

Theresa Romain | 420 comments Just got my copy of Improper Gentlemen and am looking forward to new novellas from the always-excellent Maggie Robinson and Mia Marlowe (aka Emily Bryan). Diane Whiteside is heading the anthology and I've never read her before, but her novella's a western set in a gmabling den. Sounds good. ;)

I also bought that e-book based on Janga's recommendation, I'd love to know what you think of it.

I hope you both enjoy it.

I'll be reviewing Pam Morsi's The Bentleys Buy a Buick this Tuesday.

I read Toni Blake's Holly Lane yesterday. It's going to be a great addition to 2011 Christmas books. I recommend it to warm the heart and raise the temperature. :)

I just finished Silk Is for Seduction with minutes to spare before August starts. Loved it, though it took me forever to finish because Loretta Chase is one of those authors that I cannot make myself gobble up. I have to read every word of her gorgeous prose.
