message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

and shay bugged me too

message 25: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 1461 comments What bugged me was the slang for each one. Bogus, bubbly, Tally-wa, etc. Got pretty repetitive and annoying.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

i know!

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

oooh, interesting title....whats it aboit?

message 28: by Dan (new)

Dan (dannyyg) I always like the Sherlock short stories and novels by Sir Arthur Conan. Also like classic books like "1984" by George Orwell and the "Time Machine" by HG Wells. I also enjoy comptemporary literature and guilty pleasure the YA and JF genre like Hunger Games series and City of Ember series.

message 29: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 1461 comments I like Sherlock and City of Ember too! I haven't got a chance to read those other books, though.

I love science fiction stories.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

i'd like to read the city of ember series

message 32: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 1461 comments I read almost the whole series. I skipped the Prophet of Yonwood, though, because I was bored... I should read that series again.

message 33: by Jade♪☠, You're pretty. Can I have some of your hair? (new)

Jade♪☠ | 1134 comments Mod
The Prophet of Yonwood was good. You should definitely reread them.

message 34: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 1461 comments I definitely will! Good idea! ^_^

message 35: by Dan (last edited Feb 15, 2012 04:49PM) (new)

Dan (dannyyg) I was considering skipping Prophet of Yonwood because it had several bad reviews on Goodreads. I only reason I read the City of Ember series because the author did a skype conference 2 weeks ago at the local library. I enjoyed "City of Ember" and "People of Sparks" I have read the other two yet.

Jade♪☠ | 1134 comments Mod
Definitely read the others, they're really good.

message 37: by Dan (new)

Dan (dannyyg) I just finished reading "Prophet of Yonwood" I must say I was a bit disappointed. When I hear it was a prequel to "city of ember" I thought it would more about the foundation of Ember or the Builder's more detail plans and thoughts in the creation of Ember. Instead, I felt it prequel were not relate to "city of ember" or "people of sparks". Maybe "Diamond of Darkwood" would be better.

The Diamond of Darkwood is very good. It's my second favorite, after The City of Ember, of course.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

never read em'

message 40: by Dan (new)

Dan (dannyyg) Yeah Diamond of Darkhold is pretty good so far and I think it has a better and more suspenseful story than "Prophet of Yonwood". I started reading yesterday night and I couldn't put it down.

message 41: by Jade♪☠, You're pretty. Can I have some of your hair? (new)

Jade♪☠ | 1134 comments Mod
the same with me when i was reading it.

message 42: by Dan (new)

Dan (dannyyg) I plan to finish the rest of the book tonight. I will find out tonight if the book had a decent ending. :D

message 43: by Dan (new)

Dan (dannyyg) I finished reading "Diamond of Darkhold" and I thought it was perfect way to end the City of Ember series. The book had a good moral, and was perfectly season with the right amount of suspense. I liked the book very much.

Jade♪☠ | 1134 comments Mod
Same here. I loved the ending too.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

What do you think of it so far?

message 49: by Dan (new)

Dan (dannyyg) Is the Son of Neptune first of its series?

message 50: by Jade♪☠, You're pretty. Can I have some of your hair? (new)

Jade♪☠ | 1134 comments Mod
No, it's the second book of The Heroes of Olympus series, a spin-off of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
