Diane S ☔ I found the first 75 pages or so of the The Hypnotist to be incredibly intense. Actually had to put the book down every so often and read something else for a little. Loved the story though. Has anyone else read this?

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Do you want to jump in on or buddy read, Marilyn..How long do you think it will take to come in Dee.

message 9: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments i dunno...the standard reading period is 3 weeks, depends if there is anyone else in line to get it...but if someone has it requested then it can't be renewed, so hopefully soon

message 10: by MARILYN (new)

MARILYN (MARILYNJ) | 80 comments I would love to if it's in the last part of the month.

message 11: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments this showed up today....soo apparently it wasn't as popular as I thought

message 12: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Woo-whoo...I will get going!

message 13: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments i can't start until september...using it as a challenge book...beside you'll leave us in the dust anyways

message 14: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Ummmm, that is in 2 days...you will probably read it faster than me since I have 6 million books going right now.

message 15: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments I have like 6 books that i'm supposed to be starting on the 1st, plus the 4 I have in progress right now...lol! but that is def. less than your 60 right?

message 16: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments I feel like all I am doing right now is reading....

message 17: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthas48) Apparently, I'm in good company. I'm currently reading 8, have several more I need to be reading. I've purposely kept September light so that I can hopefully get through some that I've been needing to read & review. Also, need to buckle down on my challenges for the year if I want to accomplish them. Perhaps I shouldn't have started so many! LOL But it's been fun.

message 18: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments i'm a challenge junkie as Naomi will tell you ;) but I do a pretty good job of fitting books into various challenges

message 19: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Martha wrote: "Apparently, I'm in good company. I'm currently reading 8, have several more I need to be reading. I've purposely kept September light so that I can hopefully get through some that I've been needing..."

Yeah, September was supposed to be light for me too...Both Dee and I love challenges, she does more than I do though. I just can't say no to a book!

message 20: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments like I said Naomi - you need to check out SRC - total crack!!

message 21: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Yeah, I have been moderating it..I have to see what is going on in that one situation.

message 22: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthas48) I would have done great on my challenges if I could ignore buddy/group reads.

message 23: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments See..that is when you drag them into your challenges! Right Dee?!?!

message 24: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments That's what I do - so far I've got 2 group read and 3 buddy reads in

message 25: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments We have done buddy reads only for me to find out later it was because she needed it for a challenge...Oh, and who can forget her complaining about a challenge I had set up didn't include Africa..only to find out that she is in the middle of a huge Africa challenge! lol

message 26: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments yeah yeah - actually it was an around the world challenge ;)

message 27: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments lol!!

message 28: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments and its not like i said, hey, i need this country, but more like...what, no africa?

message 29: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthas48) You 2 are funny! If a book fits all my challenges I use it in all of them. I haven't done an arnd the world challenge yet. Maybe next year. I think I have 5 challenges in all. It's given me a focus for my reading list. when they become more like work than fun I'll quit doing them. Lol

message 30: by Dee, the Insanity Check (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments glad we're entertaining ;) I love the around the world one i'm doing - the goal is to read 80 books set in 80 different countries - so i've read a lot of stuff I normally wouldn't have. It ends at the end of September, but I think i'm going to continue on when they restart and try to hit 80 more countries

message 31: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthas48) That sounds like one for me for next year!!

message 32: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments This was ok to me. I will give it 3 stars, but it wasn't that "rock my world" NN that I love. The mystery was good, but I thought it might have dragged a bit.

message 33: by MARILYN (new)

MARILYN (MARILYNJ) | 80 comments I'll wait for the paperback.

message 34: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Yeah, cuz you buy your books, right Marilyn? I am def. happy I got it from the library.

message 35: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Gotta know...I am supposed to start their new book The Nightmare: A Noveltoday and I noticed an awful lot of low stars. Anyone read this? I have a stack of books that just keep growing and at 500+ pages am wondering if I should just let this slip by.

message 36: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Oh my Goodness...did this book earn its' low stars! Probably the most PREDICTABLE NN book I have EVER read. It is HORRIBLE!
