As far as I know, even though he has some chapters written (those initially thought for A Dance with Dragons but in the end "moved" to The Winds of Winter), he has said he won't be focusing on writing Book 6 until 2012. He probably had enough of all the pressure from fans to finish A Dance with Dragons. Some kind of sweet revenge.

If we have learned one thing about dates of publishing with this last book, then not to expect anything until it's officially said on Martin's blog. Until then... everything's possible!
But i think you should not "try" to read extra slowly just to match an imaginary date when book 6 could be due, that sounds to me like pretty hazardous towards your reading fun when limiting your own speed of reading so strictly. And as not even Martin himself coudl tell you today when to expect the book it has a rather large risk of turning out futile after all, when you e.g. could manage to read a whole year on one book and then book 6 took again 5 years since the one before it to come out you'd be rather frustrated or not?

HAHA! Sadly,Rodrigo, that's probably what I'll end up doing.

Yah, I thought maybe I could stretch it out like 6 months or so if I mixed another book in there, but I guess I'll just read 4 and 5 and then re-read them again sometime in the next 5 years when the other two come out. =) Thanks!

hahah! "The decade is still young.." hahah! Yah, I guess I wasn't being realistic.

That's what I decided to do too. Despite the long wait for A Dance with Dragons, once I finally had it I didn't read it right away. Instead, I put it in the shelf while I re-read the previous books 2, 3 and 4 (reading Book 1 again would have been repetitive, with the TV series so fresh still).
I finished A Feast for Crows only yesterday, and now I am rubbing my hands together in anticipation. I foresee an enjoyable weekend!

I am starting a Feast for Crows this weekend. Looking forward to it as well.

Oh, you cannot be serious about GRRM planning on starting Book VI until next year!!

There are many tidbits of info going around about Winds of Winter.
For example, he wrote in his blog, in July 2010, "The good news is that I seem to have written more than a hundred pages of THE WINDS OF WINTER already."
On the other hand, I've read he will be busy with promotional tours, other projects and... stuff.
I've also read somewhere he won't be resuming his work on the series until 2013... but I think that is BS.
In his blog, he left us this:

Ok, now you can panic.
