The Mystery, Crime, and Thriller Group discussion

Here's how you play: you type a post about anything (usually real-life stuff) and "quote" one 5-letter word. The next person takes that word, changes one letter, and then rearranges the letters to spell a new 5-letter word and uses the new word in "quotes" in a new post that either responds to the last one or starts a new topic. I'll begin to show how it's done:

Hey, all this rain we are having really "bites".

Yeah, it's a real "beast", isn't it?

(took the letters from "bites", changed the "i" to an "a" and rearranged the letters to spell "beast". Not so hard, is it?)

But at "least" it is not flooding?

This is true. Rowing a boat through the water is not really my "style".

When my dog is in the boat he really "yelps" when it thunders.

And "leaps" out of the boat.

My dog always manages to bay loudly when I am trying to "sleep".

looks like NPR puzzlemaster has arrived

But he only does it when the alarm clock goes "bleep".

When those sounds start going, it makes my ears want to "bleed".

And my head start to "blend" into the sound.

Me? It turns my hair "blond"....

I bet that would make me look quite "noble", actually!

Gatorman's new game is making my ear "lobes" itch!

Thanks, Hayes. Truth is I "stole" the idea from another group, but hey, let's share the wealth, right?

Rain is coming here, too. Time to "stoke" the fire.

I am a little late but I had to go to the "store".

I had to leave the goods by the "stone".

I hope the smoke from the fire goes up the "vents"

Hopefully nothing will pop and cause "dents"!

Remember to "stand" away from the fire.

Or you will get a "nasty" burn!

But it's what makes marshmallows "tasty"!

But don't be to "hasty" in making them.

Would you then "state" that it is dangerous?

It is if you "stare" into the flames.

Probably better then to just "roast" your meat.

But what would a "satyr" do?

Probably "stays" around to watch flames

If you had some "yeast", perhaps s/he could make a loaf of bread to go with the roast meat!

That might take "years" over an open fire

Your eyes might get "teary" from the smoke, but you might be able to bury the loaf of bread to bake it....

It would just make me "weary".

As long as someone remains "aware" of potential hungry bears, you could sleep!

That depends on what the person "wears" to bed. Don't look like food!

or 'worse', don't smell like food ;)

A "sword" to fend them off then!

You don't want to be left thinking, "I could have "sworn" I had a weapon in the cabin!"

If there's a cabin that's where I would be, with the other nervous 'noras'!!

Not dancing "horas" around the big bad bears?

No! Not me, too cosy in the cabin with the fire and everything... but I'd 'share' the mini bar goodies with the dancers

The card "shark" in the group might have emptied the mini bar contents before you can share!

Keep drinking from the mini bar and you will all "crash" real soon.

Quick! "Scram" to bed before the rowdies start carousing!

Goodnight... take care and don't 'smack' any bears, or each other, with those swords!

Don't forget to wear your sleep "masks"!

And your sleep "sacks".

And "stack" your reading on the floor.
