Quarterly Challenge #3 (Fall 2011)
Ha! I always stumble across these challenges half way through the season so I'm glad to be one of the first :D do I just sign up here?
Husnaa wrote: "Hmmm, sounds good! I just hope I have time for it. so it's just 10 books then?"Yes, 3 months to read 10 books.
Husnaa wrote: "Also, can we read a book that was challenged in like 2010/2009? Sorry to bother you. xD"Sure, any challenged book, as long as it qualifies as YA.
Tatiana, I don't know how you always manage to come up with a fresh list each time. Sounds fun. I'll have to get thinking. I already have a few ideas. Since we're reading Jay Asher, I thought I'd point out that he is coauthoring a book coming out this fall called The Future of Us. That's 2 categories it could fill.

I look forward to reading The Future of Us. It looks very interesting.
:). I look forward to reading it too. I keep watching the library's website, waiting for them to list it so I can put my hold on it.
I think I'll try my hand at this, considering I have a stack of books that I have no idea what order to read them, but they apply to several of these stipulations. I think I'll just mark these out as I complete them and put dates when I finish each.1.

You have 3 months to read 10 YA books that satisfy following requirements:

2) Read a book that is a new release published in September, October or November of this year. Goodreads offers lists of the most popular new releases by month, they might help you to make your choices - September, October and November. (If you have difficulties obtaining these new books, you can read a release from the same months in 2010).
3) Read a book set in fall or takes place during a school year or in school.
4) Read a book which has a name in its title, for ex. Anna and the French Kiss, The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks.
5) Read a book that earned a starred review from Kirkus Reviews or any other professional publication. Kirkus reviews can be located here - past and upcoming.
6) Read a book which touches upon the subject of teen sexuality, whatever aspect of it you are comfortable with (or not) - pregnancy, virginity, homosexuality, etc.

10) Read a book written by a duo (or a group) of authors, for ex. Will Grayson, Will Grayson, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. It can also be an author/illustrator collaboration. Or, of you can't find one, a book with multiple POVs.
Everything should be done on this thread - your questions, your plans, your progress.
Happy reading!
