Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Yes, Firelight was a little bit heavy on the Romeo and Juliet aspect, but I kind of liked the "dragon hunter falls for the dragon" thing. There were a couple of lines in the book that made me cringe with cheesiness, but I thought it was a cute first book. Nothing exceptional, but good to pass the time. I have Vanish but haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

Cambria (cambria409) i want to read these, I haven't got the chance yet. I hear the first one is good but haven't met anyone who has read the second yet.

Brittney I am interested in this book. I like the dragon aspect, but all I've really heard is bad things. And if not bad reviews that say it was just okay. So I am still on the fence with this one.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments I heard that the series goes downhill, so I'd never gotten around to reading past book 1.

This reminds me that I gotta clean out old series again after the first of the year!

Brittney Ehh that's actually disappointing. I'll probably still attempt it, my curiosity always gets the best of me.

Brittney I am reading the final book now. I love the concept of this series. It is unique and extremely interesting. There are all different kinds of Draki's (Onyx, Earth, etc.). I like that the colors of the Draki's correspond to their powers. I actually think the main character's (Jacinda) power is the most boring of the bunch and she has a rare power. She is a fire breather. I think of a normal Dragon when I think of her.

When I picture a Draki I often find myself picturing Mystique from X-Men with wings! The way the author describes the Draki's is similar....at least in my opinion.

Overall the books aren't bad. I find that the characters lack depth and I have a hard time connecting with them. But I'm not sad I picked this series up. Hopefully other people in this group give it a shot!

Gina's (ginasgoodreads) | 12 comments Soon I'll finish reading the third book.

There is also an additional book, I'm excited to read it too.

Brittney Reading from AZ's point of view would be pretty interesting. I didn't know about this one! Now I have to check it out.
