The Surreal Killer, the third Roger Bowman-Suzanne Foster South American mystery novel in the series, is now available as a Kindle E-Book from Amazon (+Amazon UK and DE) for $2.99; the novel is free for Amazon Prime members at http://www.amazon.com/The-Surreal-Kil.... A serial killer is leaving a trail of dead women across Chile, Peru, and Bolivia. The gruesome corpses all seem to have died in exactly the same macabre way. There may be a link to a small group of scientists who meet annually in different locations in the region. Roger Bowman and Suzanne Foster are asked by the local police to attend this year’s meeting of the group in Lima, Peru to try to find out who was present at the previous meetings when the murders occurred. And the reader is off on a fast paced pursuit of the killer through Lima, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu in Peru and Chile’s Atacama Desert. This is a true whodunit mystery novel set in an unusual and exotic locale.
In the spy/thriller, THE OLD SPOOK, the fictional CIA operative Tom Miler helps topple the Allende regime. In Chuquicamata he confronts the Russian agent who recruited Lee Harvey Oswald. Available exclusively at Amazon.com. The Old Spook

Violeta by Isabel AllendeSweeping view of the past century, the narrator Violeta (possibly based on the author's mother?) was born in the Spanish flu epidemic of 1920s Chile and dies in the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Family saga that gives you a good overview of Chile (only referred to as "mi país") Vintage Allende.
From the book Proximity Factor
“Now... let me first thank the staff who have followed me from the ALMA project in Chile.”
A group of scientists stood and delivered a rousing applause.
“Yes...Thank you all!
For a reminder, or for those who have not seen the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array (ALMA) project I designed in Chile, here is a photo.”
He pushed a few buttons on the podium to display this photo.
