I can't imagine how bad it is down there, we're getting the storm I think tomorrow and the beaches by me last night were intense! Stay safe Cambria!
My sister was stuck in a hurricane when on holiday in the states once, we couldn't get any contact with her, it was really worrying. I hope everyone stays safe.
Thoughts and prayers sent to all in the path.Unless the storm does something silly, like run up the Chesapeake Bay, we're on that outer west edge so we won't get much wind and only a fair amount of rain.
We've done the appropriate preparations and I hope that those of you that could be affected can do the same. Nature is a mother and she doesn't care, after all.

200,000 people without power =( I'll pray that she along with everyone is safe and ok.

Please everyone send prayers..."Having lived through floods and cyclones last summer here in the Great South Land, our wishes and prayers are with you, Cambria and all others in the path of nature's reminder of how insignificant we are.
The storms currently sweeping your east coast WILL pass!
Hang in there.
BTW, Cambria, while I think of it -- Do werewolves give a wolf whistle? To humans, or only others of their kind? And how can you tell a werewolfwhistle from a normal wolfwhistle?
I have been in touch with Cambria, she and her family are great, they have no power, but they are doing well! :)
Just thought I would pass that along to everyone, it looks like it is moving through. Hopefully this nightmare will pass soon.

AWWWWWW!!!Thank you all so much!! Amy, you are too sweet. I reall, really appreciate the thoughts and prayers everyone.
We did make it through!! We were without power for quite a while and had a few minor water leaks, our mailbox fell over, the roof off the kids playhouse was ripped away and the neighbors wooden fence (only a 10 foot section) fell over in our yard. We had a tornado warning as well, I think one touched down in another county nearby. But other than that we are all good and safe!!
I hope anyone else touched by this is doing well and hanging in there.
This was my first hurricane and it was a little scary and I am glad it is over but I do appreciate you all taking hte time to think of me and family. :)
It made it easier to get through to know you all kept us in your thoughts!
Hope you all are having a wonderful day! :)
I heard over 2 mil people along the east coast do not have power....about 200K here in CT without power, and Irene will be here soon. I'm inland, so only supposed to be a tropical storm for me, but oy! the rain! We have a river going down our road and through our front yard...water is streaming through the basement window wells! One death here in CT from the storm from a downed tree...I think I heard 9 total deaths on the east from the storm. Glad you're safe Cam and all the others.
Good Luck Dale!! I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!! Stay dry! Tropical Storm winds are very strong too!! Stay safe!

To all of you who are still dealing with this, the storm - and the after affects - know you are all in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Cambria,
I am glad to hear that you and yours weathered the storm. After surviving the summer of 2004 in Central Florida when the eyes of three hurricanes passed over my house, I can certainly understand how you feel.
Now is an excellent time to meet your neighbors. If you help each other clean up the debris, it will get done much faster, and you will feel much better about resuming your normal life.

Whoa! you guys have had some excitement while I was in deepest darkest Yorkshire!! Glad to hear you all got through it okay without too much in the way of damage.JAC
I wish we were getting just a SMALL fraction of the rain! I am so tired of summer. At least the storm sent us some less humid winds...Glad you are okay, and I'm still praying for everyone up the coast!
Cassie- i hear you on the summer. I'm tired of it too. It was actually slightly cool here this am and I was so thrilled!! LOL.p.s. here its "cool" when its only in the low 80's
The forecast I saw this morning showed temps in the 80's starting Sunday! I am so thrilled...and that is really sad when you consider 80's a cool front! LOL I personally hope the rain and "cool" decide to move on in tomorrow morning...since we will be at the football stadium right in the middle of the day!Does Mother Nature have a prayer line?

It is raining here...AND I have my windows open because it is so cool!!! It is wonderful!!! ;-) I think it's in the high 60's right now!!! How AWESOME is that???????
