Welcome to all new members! Hopefully everyone will have a good time meeting some new authors. I hope to get a poll up to see if we can get some books decided for October.

As for me, I'll gladly donate a copy of my book anytime we might chat about a topic in which my book falls.

I'm thinking I liked your idea about theme months Jeffrey. When we get more members I am thinking of having a steampunk month. Probably run 2 genres per month once things get in the swing here.

Works for me! Haven't read many steampunk books but I'm eagerly looking forward to reading more in this genre!

I've been meaning to stick up a couple copies of An Oak of Hope for a while, maybe I can donate them to here instead. If possible, I'll see if I can get a couple for Scourge of Screbulum once it's available too. =D

I'll donate a copy of book 2 when it's ready to go, too! Even a paperback edition.

Ebooks are a given. :)

I'm very excited for all the books to be given away. I hope we get some good participation in the book club discussions and can drum up some interest in a lot more books.

Jeff - Yep, sure is! Don't think 3 has a title yet, I think we announced the book title on Facebook a while ago. He likes to take pictures around the New Zealand countryside to represent various locations you might see in the books.

Ahhh. New Zealand. It's in my top 5 countries I'd like to visit.

Also I just created the first poll! I am trying to get a feel for a good system. I think every month we'll choose a general theme for the next month, then take nominations for the book for a week or two, and finally have the poll up to decide the eventual winner. Any feedback is most welcome as I have never tried to run a group like this before so I'm a little in the dark as to proper procedures.

Today was a big day for the blog. I got my first affiliate payment from Amazon! It only took me 7 months to make 10 dollars lol. Hopefully it will pick up a little bit over time.

As some bonus motivation to participate and get your book nominated I am adding a book of the month section on the sidebar of my blog. It is basically going to be an add for your book that will be visible for the entire month.

Nice! I'll nominate my own book just as soon as it is officially released. :)

I have to have a Kindle reader because I ran out of room in my tiny cabin for anymore books!

As for reading, I game to just about anything other then straight romance, unless it is Medieval Chivalry LIT since that is my thing! I read and can critique but am not a creative writer such as many of you. My blog is more cooking, meandering, bitching about the cold and books.. haha

Ok, I see your super cold climate and raise you one Land of Eternal Air Conditioners. I'm in Lk Havasu City, AZ. It's pretty much the hottest habitable spot in the entire USA. If you can see how hot Phoenix is, add about 5 degrees and that's us. It's going to be 115 today. *sigh*

Then again, our winters are gorgeous!!!!

I lived in Tucson for 12 years, next to the "westernmost battle of the Civil War" at Picacho Peak. I loved the hiking and rock climbing, plus the spelunking trips to New Mexico. I found Tucson itself a bit boring, though.
Now I live in Madrid, with lots to do, no caving, no rock climbing, and not much good hiking! Ah well.

You live in Madrid? Very cool! The only country I've been to other than my own is Canada. *sigh* My wife and I have always wanted to go to Ireland. Some day. :)

With this weather now, it's pretty much the dead of winter to me. I just don't go outside. Or, if I do, I dress accordingly. :) AC house to AC car to AC store, and vice versa. If you were in Tucson you pretty much know that already.

Havasu is pretty much a retirement town. Lots and lots of old people who luckily for me don't know squat about working a computer.

Oh I did that once already! But we had a swamp cooler in Bisbee, AZ and at least I was in the mountains! Tucson is definitely boring, and BLAH! We started off at Fort Huachuca and I ran to Bisbee as fast as my little artist ass would let me!

We have the same climate as AZ, desert country here too! But instead of a dry heat we have a dry cold.. muwhahahaha seriously!

Certainly beats my tiny little part of the UK and its perennial wetness.

Yep, pretty north! We have the farthest North Denny's, Chili's, Boston's Walmart ... But where else can you step outside only be be run back in because there is a huge ass moose eating all your basil! True story, had to cancel class that day because a moose trapped me inside!

Scariest animals we have around here are the coyotes and bobcats. Sadly, too many people leave their animals outside all he time. Yep, even in the heat. Pisses me off. I've reported quite a few to the humane society.

That's why my dog is sound asleep next to me as I type this. Keeley, my Welsh Corgi Pembroke.

People always go "OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH MOOSE" dumbasses then want to take photos and they forget that those things will take you out in a heartbeat if you spook them. We have bears and wolves, so we have to watch the garbage at times especially in the summer with bears. Foxes too, but they are just to cute! As for idiots leaving their animals out? Ya dogs, love 'em, but sick of walking out to find them at my door or sleeping under my porch because some owner is to lazy to keep track! Cats, naa who cares they are all over. Mine stays inside, as she always has, to many BIGGER things to take her out in the woods. I had a cat who stalked a moose... note HAD!

The chav. Positively terrifying.

I had a pretty irate squirrel talk some serious smack to me the other day. Falling bird poop is another threat.

I live in the moose capitol of Upper Michigan and I have yet to see a moose. Not sure I want to since they are supposed to be mean creatures that you don't want to piss off.

I've been to Leicester, and left. Yes, the chav is a frightening phenomenon. Have you seen that book on chav culture that came out recently? "Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class." Sounds like it was written by an Oxbridge scholar who never went to the bad part of town. Since when did chavs represent the working class? Most chavs don't work at all!
