If anyone would like to suggest books for October feel free to do so here.

That sounds like a good idea to me. I've heard it's very good, but I've never read it.

Rachel | 37 comments It is fun and funny. I particularly enjoy the dialogue. If we do it, I will have to dig out my copy and reread it again. I think it will make the reread count up in the teens or twenties now. I reread all of my Diana Wynne Jones books on an almost yearly basis. She inspires me as an author and never fails to get me to laugh. :)

Perhaps we could try LightMasters: number 13 by MG Wells, or Carolina Rain by Nancy B. Brewer. LightMasters is a fantasy novel, which was published in 2010. Carolina Rain is historical fiction, taking place during the Civil War. Both were recommended by other group members.

How about Let The Right One In, John Ajvide Lindquist? I know, I'm supposed to be reading stuff other than horror, but this is a beautiful, unique book, and October should be a spooky month.:)

Good point about the spooky.:) Let The Right One In will go in the poll, which will be up some time next week, and stay up until October 1st.

So far the books for the poll are:
-Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
-LightMasters: number 13 by MG Wells
-Carolina Rain by Nancy B. Brewer.
-Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindquist

-I would also like to try Wolf Moon by Charles de Lint. I have not read it, but it looks pretty good and fits with the Halloween theme.

If there is another book you think we should try, please feel free to suggest it and it will be added to the poll.

Having a poll for group reads seemed to work well for September, so I will continue with that system. Any suggestions for improvements are welcome. :)

Hi Beth,

Just a note to let you know both the Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Nobles eBooks are on sale for 99 Cents.

Enjoy the Journey,

Thanks, Kyle. I will add at least one of them to the poll. :)

The poll is up. Vote away! :)

I was trying to have group members nominate books for the poll here, and then I am adding books based only on votes in the poll. So, I will add the two books that were voted for and put up a new poll. In a week the book with the most votes will be added to our October books.(I am trying to do three every month.) I will be more clear this month. I'm sorry, I am new at this. :)
