Now Mischa has focus, but it doesn't seem to be on Martiya; so much more on the Walkers.
The life of a missionary seems to parallel the life of an anthropologist; living without amenities. Of course, their impact on the Dyalo are completely different. One observes the native way of life; one changes it.
The Walkers sure are a focused bunch. I always picture a single person in a family “dedicating” a life to God, not entire generations of one family.

Almeta wrote: "Tang! When is the last time you had a glass of Tang?"A long time!!! And it's funny because I just asked my kids the other day if they would drink Tang, and both of them were like "What's Tang??"
lol Tang, you know they drink it down here in the Yucatan :) Does anybody else think at this point the book should be called The Walkers? Yes that is pretty amazing, how everyone in that family for generations has the calling. David was the only one who seemed like he might go in a different direction.
Ooops! I put my comment about TANG in part 1. I remember drinking it when I was a kid. Something about it being the drink of the astronauts.
Wow, a lot of detail about the Walkers, for sure. I found it interested, tho. Wasn't bored. I could never have lived a life like that... in the jungle... well... except if I'd been born there. Imagine having a tiger for a pet. I was sad they had to leave it behind when they were forced to move.
Never thought that the movie Star Wars would be considered controversial. Anyone remember anything about that?
And what about seeing a movie for the first time. Anybody remember their first movie. It certainly would be hard to explain one to someone who'd never seen one.
Also... any Dead Heads out there. Tell us about it!
It was interesting getting the background on David. Now we have to find out why he was shot in the back 2 times!
