It has come to my attention that I neglected to let everyone know that Auntie Cheryl picked Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier for the October book. I'm pleased as punch by this selection, as I wanted to read it.

Lauren | 251 comments Me too - and I'm even more excited that, for the first time in book club history, I am not going to have to play Musical Hold List! Great selection, Auntie Cheryl!

Lauren, ditto on the hold business. I was telling Ashley I hadn't seen Cheryl's pick yet, and so she gave me a preview by email. When I went out to my car to my great joy and delight, there it was on my car seat. A friend gave it to me after reading it in her book club. How cool is that.

Cheryl | 134 comments I'M SOOOOO GLAD YOU GUYS LIKE MY PICK. MY GIRLFRIEND DIANE IN FRESNO SAID, "CHERYL, DROP EVERYTHING AND READ THIS BOOK!" SHE'S ONLY DONE THAT TWICE BEFORE AS I RECALL, AND THEY WERE BOTH GREAT READS.

I'm about half done with your book "Remarkable Creatures" Cheryl, and am enjoying it very much. Interesting character development. Hope you all are enjoying it too. Have a great week. Is your wine tasting over yet. Sounded like you were having a wild and crazy October. Hope your extended family all had a nice visit together.

Ashley, I also started Olive Kitteridge. You're right, it is a very interesting and enjoyable read. I'm about 1/10 into it, but gotta start somewhere.

I also checked out "Life of Pi." Anyone read it, and if so, how did you like it?

Hi Carol,
Yes, I have. It was during the summer. It's one of my favorite reads this year. I think I gave it 4.5 stars. I'll be re-reading it this week. I need it fresh on my mind for a book club(F2F) discussion next week.
Sorry, I haven't stop by lately. I been really busy. I so behind in my reading for this month. :(

Hi Alisha,
I usually average from 7 - 12 books a month. It really depends on my schedule. I always take 1 or 2 books with me wherever I go (It really helps).

I hoping to start Remarkable Creatures this weekend.

I'll be talking with y'all soon!!! :D
Diana

Carol, I read Life of Pi. I really liked it, but it's quite different than anything else I've read. And I'm so glad you're reading Olive Kitteridge! That's the best book I've read all year. So far. Enjoy!
