Donna (donnahr) I read Hero Wanted just last year so I didn't re-read it this time. This was my review:

"Fun book. Over the top humor. Unwitting turnip farmer Jason Cosmo becomes a Hero, gets the girl and saves the world. A lot of laugh out loud jokes along the way. My favorite is the description of the Hero test, as I have been fated to administer those standardized tests that the state of Texas has seen fit to inflict on students for the past few decades. The cultural bias joke was dead on."

At first, I wasn't sure whether it was just going to be a string of fantasy jokes .... but once it got going, I really liked the story. It read to me like the way my friends and I played D&D - for the fun of it with over the top magics and traps and all that and to hell with any fantasty realism. :)

Brad Pretty fun. This didn't feel like a comedy exactly, but just some funny parts.
I like the hero test also. Very silly, but my favorite part of this universe is that horses drink coffee. I also cracked up at the end when Erimandras gets called out on his sagely claim "I've been expecting you".
