Sandy Wow, girl! That is a bunch....good for you. That should keep you busy. Do you actually add them to your Goodreads "to read" list or do you wait till you think you are ready to read them do you add them?

message 7: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 450 comments Wow Dena! You've been going as crazy as I have..lol...some I recognize & some I don't. Sandy, I actually try to add these to my GR list but not always...depends on what mood I'm in. Ok...wait...rephrase...depends on if I'm lazy or not..LOL

I add them to my list and also in a separate list as Kindle books. That way, If anyone has a kindle or nook and wants to buddy read one of those titles, I'm good to go!!!!

Call me Crazy!!!! And they have all been added.....

Library books and or books I have bought recently and or already owned I've been trying to get on list here. I sort of think its a good insurance policy on the owned ones in case of a fire and stuff.... :o)

message 9: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 450 comments Dena, I had not thought of doing it for insurance purposes...now that's SMART! Thanks for the tip! Now I'm hanging my head looking at tons of books on my bookcases which need to be put on GR! LOL

Did you have to archive them? Or did you want to archive them?

message 21: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 450 comments Magpie67 wrote: "Did you have to archive them? Or did you want to archive them?"

I wanted to....this way everything I have on my Kindle are books TBR. Geez...all 500 or so...LOL

message 22: by Sandy (new)

Sandy When you archive on your Kindle, can you see them? Do the titles vanish completely or are they just a lighter color? Just wondering. On the Nook they are a lighter color, that way, I know what I have downloaded on the website and I can reload it later. I am thinking of getting a Kindle and am curious (I need to get a real job steady job first).

message 23: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 450 comments Yes, you can see them in the "Archived Items" folder. You can see the titles, but you have to either go to Amazon website & re-download or turn on the wireless/3G & re-download them. It's pretty easy. Also, if I were to try to purchase a book I already have, a messsage comes up stating I already have that title & the date I purchased it. Hope this helps!
I LOVE my Kindle...don't know what I did without it! I have to go w/hubby tomorrow to take his sister & his father to doctor visits and since we'll be doing alot of sitting, my trusty Kindle will be tagging along! :)

I love my Kindle but I would so totally love a Kindle fire next... Thinking about switching my stuff over to the new Kindle and then giving Josey my old Kindle.... If I decide to get one. :o)

I really want an Ipad for the whole family to use too....

decisions, decisions,....

I archived one book by accident and I think I've looked at the archive items pretty easy but have not re-downloaded it yet as it was a dictionary or something like that. No big deal.

:o)

Believe it or not, I'm really not interested in a Kindle Fire...not sure why, but it just doesn't get me "fired up"....LOL...and I'll be here all week folks!
Seriously, it just doesn't appeal to me. Neither does the Ipad. Maybe if I actually saw one in person & played with it, I might change my mind.
I've archived a book or two before by accident & it was really easy to get back using the Kindle...didn't have to go to Amazon site.

message 26: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 450 comments I only downloaded one (Yes, ONE!) freebie today. It sounded pretty good. Janice Daughartyand the name of the book is The Little Known

I'm a gamer and I want to be able to log on to email, facebook while im out and about.

So the Kindlefire or Ipad wouldn't be for books necessarily.... but it would be if I gave my old Kindle to Josey. ;o)

Kindlefire is soooooo much cheaper than an Ipad but I think an Ipad would be way cooler... and so much more. A mini laptop is what it really is plus an ipod / ereader.

I downloaded a 2.99 book Interlude in Death by J.D. Robb. I love those kind of cheap deals. Will check out for more free ones this weekend.

message 28: by Bethica (new)

Bethica (bethicaj) Do you guys get the e-mail for the new release freebies released on Amazon? Alot of times, authors will put out their books for free for a day or two. My daughter downloaded the whole series of "The Last Apprentice" for free when he put it on Amazon for a day. It's from eReaderIQ.com . I can forward you some of the info if you want.

message 29: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 450 comments Bethica, I haven't used that link before. I've only heard of pixelofink.com. I'll have to check it out. Thank you!!!!

I get emails from Amazon daily it seems... I don't always check them out because they are on my outlook express mail from home. I tend to forget about that email.... But once in a while I have grabbed freebies from there and freebies that amazon/kindle puts on facebook. I also get a a list of freebies from another source in my hotmail account....

I have started to look into my account on Amazon to see what they have to offer me as a suggestion too....

so many things to do on the computer, so many books to read, so many books to download and retrieve from the library.... Not enough hours in the day! :o)

message 31: by Bethica (new)

Bethica (bethicaj) This lists all the new freebies from Amazon in one e-mail and sorts them into classes i.e. horror, romance, business, ect. It's been really helpfull. Msg me your e-mail if you want me to forward one to you to check out.

Scratch
Cirkus by Pattie Frazee
Serial Date and Bad Spirits by D.V. Berkom

message 33: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 450 comments When I received my email from Pixel of Ink today, I noticed Cirkus was listed...it sounded soooo good! I went to Amazon to download it & silly me!! I downloaded that one over a month ago! GEEZ!!! Senility is setting in already! :)

Ginger | 450 comments Wow! Good for you...way to save! I was going to buy one yesterday as a treat to myself, but then felt guilty...LOL...I already have so many to read and I download some awesome freebies, so I decided to wait. My mom sent me some money for my birthday, so I'm going to get an Amazon gift card & then "buy" some books...haha

message 36: by Magpie67 (new)

Sounds like a great plan.... use the birthday money!

message 37: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 450 comments I downloaded a few freebies this week & today (couldn't help myself)!! I also bought a couple which were 3.99 & under.

Moving On by Trisha Grace, Rex and the City: True Tales of a Rescue Dog Who Rescued a Relationship by Lee Harrington, For the Helpless by Lori Boggs, The Jade Rabbit by Mark Matthews, Kind of Blue by Miles Corwin. And that's just a start...I'll finish updating tomorrow. :)

Bethica (bethicaj) I just picked up a book that is totally not like what I ususally read, called the Jesus Discovery. It's a true story about an archaeological dig site and what they believe they find there. Sounds pretty interresting. The Jesus Discovery: The New Archaeological Find That Reveals the Birth of Christianity

Hey, if you miss a day looking at the freebies.... check on on them still. Some of them stay free more than just that day. :o)

Sweet Bethica! I actually read a Kathy Reichs book in her series that totally focused on Jesus and archaelogical digs.... Wow was it so fascinating!!!! Kathy has done buriels and identified victims in the mass graves so she had me on the edge of my seat with all the religion in the book too.

Cross Bones by Kathy Reichs

It's number 8 in the series....
